What is Block Party?

Block Party, billed as a neighbourhood festival built by youths for youths in Singapore, is organised by Interfaith SG. The community-led initiative has partnered with various religious organisations to run interfaith events where youths can connect and build genuine friendships.
How does that work? That’s where Block Party comes in. The one-day event is designed to bring youths from all walks of life together to play, eat, hang out, and bond over the things they love. Around 3,000 people are expected to turn up, so you might want to get in on the action too.
Where is the Block Party happening?

Block Party will be taking up two spaces within Our Tampines Hub. The Festive Walk, a 250-metre-long thoroughfare that cuts through the development, will host booths where you can get your hands on munchies and shop local brands.
The fun continues on the football field, with more booths, select activity spots, and a huge portion of the field set aside for Block Soccer.
What food and drinks can you expect?

Come hungry, ‘cos the party promises to fill you with several enticing food options. Those with a sweet tooth will have a field day, with Pralet, Sweet Cheeks, Twosisterssmoothie, and Pancake King offering delicious treats that’ll give you a sugar rush to power through the event. Keep an eye out for the special Block Party doughnut!
If you’re craving something savoury instead, swing by Nice Rice to cleanse your palate with sausage wraps and bangers & mash. Wash everything down with matcha from Rumifolks, or nitro draft coffee courtesy of Tanamera Coffee. Plus, each attendee will receive a free Nobo soy milk.
What’s worth shopping for there?

Be prepared to leave the party poor – there are plenty of cute merch to browse at the neighbourhood festival. The list includes cute stickers, rubber stamps, prints and posters, custom patches, and apparel. Oh, there’s even digicams and vinyl records up for grabs too!
Don’t forget to swing by a live doodling station and get your portrait drawn by the Cheeky Mail Club. Or, zhush up your pearlie whites with gems by toothgems artists.
What can you do at the festival?

Now, it ain’t a Block Party without some fun and games! Besides Block Soccer, festivalgoers get to participate in activities like street chess, free throw basketball challenges, Beyblade tournaments, and even bouncing around in a balloon house. What’s that? You don’t wanna sweat too much? That’s fine, perhaps we can interest you in posing at the Instax photobooth or shooting pics using film cams, both courtesy of Hands on Film.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a neighbourhood festival that uses sports and community interaction to build bridges between different faith groups and youths.
Is it free to attend?

What is the Block Soccer tournament format?
It’s a fast-paced, small-sided football format (usually 4v4 or 5v5). The focus is on sportsmanship; teams are often encouraged to be diverse, representing different backgrounds playing toward a same goal.
