Neglecting your scalp lately? Meet the latest mineral-rich scalp treatment from Bee Choo Origin, said to deeply detoxify and rejuvenate your scalp.
Ever so often, I find myself coveting a scalp reset. Read: a deep-clean of all the gunk and sebum that has built up over time, and a relief from the occasional itchiness and tightness – no thanks to the hot and humid weather in Singapore. Said to detoxify, rejuvenate and refresh the scalp, the latest Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox treatment from Bee Choo Origin looked promising. Plus, the enticing trial price of $48 is hard to turn down.
I made a weekday lunch appointment at my nearest outlet at Bukit Merah for a scalp revival, and here’s how it went.
Meet the latest scalp treatment from Bee Choo Origin
When booking my appointment, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Bee Choo Origin has seven locations across the island, including one within my neighbourhood. All its outlets are tucked away in heartland areas, which I reckon is convenient for work-from-home days.

Once I stepped into the salon, I was enthusiastically greeted and ushered to a seat. The cosy salon was decked out in calming beige and pink hues, and felt like an instant reprieve from the neighbourhood’s cacophony.
After settling in, I was quickly acquainted with the Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox treatment. The staff share that they use a power-packed formula with 70% mineral-rich Dead Sea mud, 16% therapeutic Dead Sea water, and 1% Dead Sea salts.

For the uninitiated, Dead Sea mud is touted as the ‘black gold’ of the skincare industry. Rich in high-concentration minerals like potassium, magnesium, calcium and zinc, it contains anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. All scalp types are welcome, especially those dealing with a sensitive, inflamed, dry, itchy or ageing scalp.
Not only does the formula calm scalp inflammation and sensitivity, but it also detoxifies build-up, hydrates the scalp and rebalances essential minerals. Plus, it boosts scalp elasticity and revitalisation, which is your ticket to a youthful and healthy scalp.
Say hello to Dead Sea mineral goodness
Before going into the main treatment, I did a quick scan for a snapshot of my current scalp condition. Fortunately, there was nothing alarming, other than the greasiness and sebum build-up I was here to get rid of.
To moisturise and protect the scalp, the staff first applied a layer of scalp and hair defense oil. This was accompanied by a quick head and scalp massage to gently spread the oil.

Now, onto the main star: the Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox mask. I’ll admit the smell wasn’t the most pleasant; it was a slightly pungent, sulfurous scent. Each time it was carefully lathered on the scalp, I would feel an instant cooling sensation. The mask is left to work its magic for about three minutes before it is thoroughly washed off.
Post-hair wash and shampoo, the scalp care continues with a scalp moisture lotion to hydrate and strengthen, as well as a hair tonic to calm and nourish the scalp for hair growth. After a blow-drying session, the treatment was done.
Depending on hair length, the six-step process takes between 45 and 60 minutes. Perfect for maximising that one-hour lunch break, if you’re popping by on a weekday!
The final review of Bee Choo Origin scalp treatment
The most visible way to see the results is through a post-treatment scalp scan, and mine left me impressed. I could visibly see a less oily and clearer surface, while my scalp felt refreshed and stripped of gunk. A small downside is the slight sulfuric scent that lingered in my hair, but no fret, it was gone after my hair wash the following day.
As the Dead Sea Mud Mineral Scalp Detox treatment is a thorough scalp cleanse and refresh, it is recommended to be done every four to five weeks for generally healthy scalps. Struggle with dandruff, sensitivity issues and an oily scalp? The staff will be happy to advise on the treatment frequency.

Having experienced the instant scalp refresh and seen the visible differences, I’m definitely keeping this scalp detox treatment in my back pocket. It’s a fuss-free way to give my scalp a quick refresh, especially if it has been taking the brunt of the weather.
