Featuring Mark Ronson, Ta-ku, Charlie Lim and more, this dance music event is going to be one mega party on 9 August – yes, on National Day itself!
Can’t wait ’til the hectic chaos of ZoukOut in December? Slake those beach party cravings a little earlier at the Beach Beats Fest, a collaboration between Zouk Singapore and Ismaya Live, the rave gurus responsible for Jakarta’s Djakarta Warehouse Project. This day-to-night beach fest will take place on the 9th of August – yes, on National Day! – at Sentosa’s newly constructed Palawan Green. If you’re up for something a little more exciting than watching the patriotic parade on telly, here’s an exciting alternative!
The event will take festival-goers on a journey, starting things off with laid-back tunage from a local indie line-up including jazzy maestro, Charlie Lim. But as the sun sets, an international line-up of world-class DJs will take to the deck. Kicking the party into overdrive is Sam Feldt, easing the crowd in with his own brand of melodic tropical house fit for a summer paradise.
Australian DJ, Hayden James, takes over with his lush deep house beats and glitch wonky grooves that’ll get hips swaying and feet shimmying, before Ta-ku drops his mix of chilled-out electronica and instrumental hip-hop. Headlining this epic evening, however, is legendary DJ Mark Ronson, the mixmeister behind “Uptown Funk” himself!
Now this ain’t just a beach concert! The festival sees the grounds of Palawan Green transformed into a fully-fledged festival village with scores of tropical-themed carnival activities. Considering these are the folks behind ZoukOut, we’re sure you can expect some stellar festival nosh as well. Here’s hoping that the Keisuke Ramen pop-up from ZoukOut makes a return!
Beach Beats Fest, 9 August 2016. Early bird tickets ($78) will be released on 15 June 2016 via the official website.
