Soothe your soul and replace your Downward Dog with Flying Dog, as you take your yoga practice in Ubud to a whole new (upside down!) level with Bali’s first AntiGravity Yoga classes
Energy, environment and expertise: few places of such beauty and holistic health in Bali can offer you as many uplifting yoga, meditation, and wellness choices as the new Dharma Shanti Yoga Bale at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan.
Already known for their extensive program of wellness offerings, not to mention its incredibly beautiful location along the Ayung River, health-seekers come from all over the world to retreat and rejuvenate at this five-star palace of peace.

But the opening of their (stunning) new, lotus-petal inspired, bamboo bale (adjacent to the sacred Ayung River no less!), takes this well-being focus to a whole new level. And it’s not just because the yoga bale is offering Bali’s first AntiGravity Yoga classes!
Yes, at the heart of the Dharma Shanti Yoga Bale experience each week are daily 60-minute AntiGravity Yoga classes, created and founded by former gymnast and dancer Christopher Harrison. Trust us, it really is easier than it may look.
A dynamic and groundbreaking ‘flying’ technique, it uses bespoke hammocks to support bodies – yes, of all ages and abilities, personally tested by us! – into enhanced and inverted postures to relieve stress, encourage healthy blood circulation, and have fun. And once you’ve ‘surrendered’ (it is yoga after all) to the unique feeling of hanging in the air, and learnt to trust both the hammock and your ability to complete poses, you’ll love the mix of fun and focus the practice brings.

Whilst getting your stretch on like few other yoga practices can offer, and (for many of us) practicing your first ever un-walled headstand due to your hammocks help!, you’ll replace Downward Dog with Flying Dog and Shavasana with Cocoon pose. But the ultimate finale is undoubtably ‘Angel’ pose – trust us, it’s impossible to explain but worth the experience and euphoria of completion (not to mention photo opportunity).
And this is just one of many yoga experiences offered within this beautiful bamboo ‘artwork’ in the jungle. Designed by Elora Hardy, the Dharma Shanti Yoga Bale offers guests 16 complimentary yoga and meditation classes each week. A daily 7:00 am class of Sunrise, Power or Laughter Yoga is complemented by the popular Life Talk series: a program of talks hosted by resident Wellness Mentor Ibu Fera that guide guests towards inner peace, happiness, stress management and compassion.

Even the name ‘Dharma Shanti’ is directly connected to understanding the experiences at the heart of our lives – dharma refers to the intrinsic nature of things, the path (sometimes referred to as your true purpose) while ‘shanti’ comes back to peace.
So sit, stretch, focus or let go, meditate or now fly… and all in one of Bali’s most beautiful places of peace and tranquility. Feet in the air, surrender and namaste.
