From cricket clubs to public fields you can book without membership, these places to play cricket in Singapore are perfect for your weekend sports activity with friends and family
Did you know that cricket’s popular in Singapore too? Despite that, cricket fields are pretty hard to find in Singapore, but it’s heartening to see people making use of whatever space there is to practise the sport in Singapore. But if you’re keen to learn more about the sport and even be part of a team, here are some centrally-located clubs and fields you can check out for the sake of the sport.
Members Clubs
Singapore Cricket Club
If you already have sporting experience in cricket, then gaining membership to the Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) might not be a problem for you. Under the Sports Membership, existing sportsmen and women are eligible for a place in one of SCC’s main sports teams. That’s all your training, gym and competition sessions settled – plus, the prestige of being associated with SCC and over 163 years of history and culture.

If you’re just a beginner to the sport, the Singapore Cricket Association is a good place to start. With their headquarters in the Stadium precinct, they’ve been organising education programs, weekend coaching clinics, and also hold domestic leagues on the competitive level. Be part of this enthusiastic community and bat your way to the top.

Ceylon Sports Club
Originally founded in 1920 by early Singapore Ceylonese professionals to promote sports and camaraderie among residents in Singapore, the club has since evolved to become a premier family and sports club. Located just outside the city centre, club membership includes access to the fields and sports clubs, coaching clinics, ground facilities and even educational benefits like a mentor scheme for students.

Singapore Recreation Club
This prestigious club with an equally prestigious address is affiliated to the Singapore Cricket Association, but has three of their own teams active in the cricket league. If you’re already a trained player, this might be a good place to be – membership gives you dibs to club facilities like Singapore’s only subterranean heated pool, training at the Padang, and more.

The Cage
For a leisurely game or two, book a slot with The Cage. They have both outdoor fields (Turf City) or for a more contained setting, an indoor cage (Kallang) with rubber mats to make sure the bounce of the ball is consistent. You also don’t have to be a member to book spaces, which makes it more accessible to anyone.
