1. Rose Romance at Gardens by the Bay

Valentine’s Day might be long gone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t plan a romantic date. Take your beau out to Gardens by the Bay for its most swoon-worthy exhibition yet. In collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Singapore, the gorgeous Rose Romance display is back. This year’s display brings the whimsical ambience of Puglia, an idyllic region in southern Italy. It’s a trendy wedding destination famed for hill towns filled with traditional limestone houses and colonial roofs.

2. Things to do: Keep the kids occupied this June holidays

Students around Singapore are jumping for joy because this weekend marks the beginning of the June holidays. This means no school and pure relaxation all month long. Parents, if you’re wondering how to fill up your empty calendars, we’ve got you. Take the opportunity to spend some time with your loved ones at family-friend restos. 3. Shop and Play: Summer in Bloom at City Square Mall
Now till 25 June
Enjoy a well-deserved break with tons of fun at City Square Mall – expect summery events and activities for the whole fam to enjoy! First off, check out the summer market (12 – 25 June) at the level one atrium with organic products, homemade bakes, sustainable trinkets and more. If you have kids in tow, keep them entertained at the bouncy flower garden with massive garden-themed inflatables.
Looking for design inspo? Marvel at the Home Balcony Landscape Display at the Fountain Square (16 to 25 June), which showcases designs that transform outdoor spaces into functional spaces with greenery. These designs were created as part of the Landscape Design Competition, in collaboration with tertiary institutions.
There’s also a roving balloonist and mime making their rounds (now till 25 June) – swing by City Square Mall for more things to check out this June. 4. Play: Summer Pawty: Day Out with Your Furkids
17 and 24 June 2023
Calling all dog parents! Get ready for an awesome time with delectable food and exciting activities at Plaza Singapura. Tickets for this fur-tastic event are priced at $70, which admits two adults and one dog. Each pass gives you access to activities like getting a free caricature drawing of you and your pet, letting your dog receive a free physical examination and more.

5. Exhibition: i Light Singapore 2023
1 – 25 June
That’s right. Marina Bay transforms into an immersive light playground once again this June. This year’s theme “A New Wave” centers around the colour blue, an omnipresent colour that can be found in nature (think oceans and rivers). Through its calming serenity, you’re invited to reflect on the environment through art installations and interactive programmes. Not forgetting GastroBeats that’ll take over the Bayfront Event space. 6. Exhibition: See Me, See You: Early video installation of Southeast Asia
All month
National Gallery Singapore is bringing us a two-part series that gives us a fascinating new perspective on early video installations from the 80s and 90s. Pioneering artists from all over Southeast Asia are now brought to the forefront. Hailing from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, discover how they break through conventional art forms. Instead of painting and sculpting, they turn to experimentation with installation, performance, and video. You can thank them for their creation of interdisciplinary approaches to art!

7. Arts & entertainment: The beloved musical “Rent” returns to Singapore
30 June – 2 July
We fell in love with Jonathan Larson’s story through Andrew Garfield’s performance in Tick Tick Boom. If you’re a fan of the 2021 Netflix film, you’ll be thrilled to know that Rent (aka Jonathan Larson’s famous piece of work) is coming to Singapore. It debuted off-Broadway in 1996, a year after the playwright died. However, his legacy lives on as the musical would go on to play on Broadway and win several awards. Following the successful direction of I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change, TJ Taylor will be taking on the direction of Rent. The musical will only be around for one weekend, so be sure to grab your tickets before they’re all gone!

8. Nightlife: Ce La Vi’s levelled up ladies’ night
Every Wednesday
Ladies’ night just got a whole lot more fun at Ce La Vi. Grab your girlfriends and take them up to this rooftop hotspot for a night of dancing. Entry is free with a complimentary glass of champagne at the Club Lounge between 10pm to 12am. Remember to dress to the nines, because the belle of the ball will get to win some very special prizes. 9. Exhibition: Sensory Odyssey: Into the Heart of Our Living World
All month
Get up close and personal with nature at the ArtScience Museum’s latest exhibition. Sensory Odyssey is where art and science come together in a unique showcase of habitats. The cross disciplinary team consists of 350 artists, designers, biologists, engineers, developers, neuroscientists, scent-makers, and media specialists. Through this multi-sensorial exhibition, you’ll be taken through seven ecosystems in the world inhabited by various animals. We especially enjoyed the trail of bats where you get a perspective of how they use echolocation. Each room also has a specially customised scent that puts you into the creature’s perspective. Be surrounded by the smell of soil and earth of an underground ecosystem, or be tickled by the scent of pollen and flowers as insects fly about.

10. Arts & entertainment: Doubt: A Parable
2 – 18 June
What happens when the will of a conservative nun and a progressive priest clash? Accusations of impropriety, distrust, and trouble questions. This 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner is a dramatic and thrilling play that’ll keep you in anticipation. Set in 1964, Donald is the first ever black student at St. Nicholas Church School, and is quickly taken under the wing of Father Flynn. However, the school principal Sister Aloysius questions his intentions and begins to suspect that something is amiss. You’ll be left reflecting on your morality, faith, and long-held beliefs.

11. Health & wellness: Zentosa LiveWell Festival 2023
10 June – 9 July
If you’re looking to kickstart your self-care journey (cause it’s never too late to start), check out the activities by Zentosa LiveWell Festival. Whisk yourself away to Sentosa for some R&R. The festival sees over 250 activities across five pillars of wellness, including mental health! The highlight is the mental and emotional wellness zone at Fort Siloso. It’s a space full of art installations and poetry by local artists. Be sure to head to the Zentosa LiveWell Festival Village where you can admire picturesque bayfront views. Besides health-related talks, there are F&B programmes and free music performances to catch.
