Best attractions and things to do in Edinburgh, Scotland
1. Edinburgh Castle
As one of the oldest places in Europe, Edinburgh Castle has a rich history as a castle, military garrison, prison, and fortress. As you walk up Castle Hill, you’ll follow the footsteps of soldiers, kings, queens, and even an odd pirate or two. Psst: despite it being a world-famous attraction, some parts of the castle are still in military use! We recommend booking your tickets before your trip because they sell out well in advance. And to make it extra special, book yourself an afternoon tea session. The Tea Room, within the heart of Edinburgh Castle, embraces a combination of modern style and rugged Scottish charm.
