Launching: The Fashion Benefit
Want to have your ethical couture cake and eat it too? Boy have we got the best news for you! The Fashion Benefit, a Singapore-based online multi-label store, is a rad revolutionary in the fashion industry by going against the major (misguided) mantra, where fashion equals mass consumption. They will be carrying a collection of chic women’s apparel and accessories from brands that believe in social and environmental sustainability, be it practicing fair trade or using sustainable fabrics.
A little birdie told us that the international brands stocked such as Indego Africa (USA), Ruby Rocks (UK), Skunkfunk (Spain), and Aussie designer Alice McCall’s House of Wilde will be making their Asian debut with The Fashion Benefit. While you ladies wax ecstatic, don’t forget to support our homegrown brands like Aijek (we love Danielle Woo’s feminine and fashion-forward get-ups!) and jewellery brand Edge of Ember.
To sweeten the social enterprise deal, the online store will be donating USD5 for every item purchased – regardless of price – to its partnering charity foundation (usually one that helps kids obtain essential skills and education necessary for survival), which will rotate every six months.
So ladies, be prepared to change the world with one dress, one scarf, and one yummy pair of heels at a time – especially when everything gorgeous is retailing between SGD15 to SGD150!
Bonus? On top of a 10% discount for all purchases above SGD200 (from now till 31 December 2013), shoppers residing in Singapore will enjoy free delivery! Psst, there will also be a gift-wrapping option for the items intended as gifts among your (predictably large) haul. Do we hear those Christmas shopping worries dissipating?
