4 upcoming milestone events at the Singapore Sports Hub
1. A momentous occasion: Pope Francis’ visit to Singapore

How many people can say that they’ve met the head of the Roman Catholic Church? ICYMI: you don’t have to make a trip to Vatican City to realise your dream of meeting the Pope. From 11 to 13 September 2024, Pope Francis will be in Singapore as part of his four-country apostolic visit. A milestone moment for the Catholic community, this marks almost 40 years since the first pontifical visit by the late Pope Saint John Paul II in 1986!
Come 12 September 2024, Pope Francis will hold a Papal Mass at the National Stadium. Tickets are free, non-transferable and allocated through a balloting system. But don’t fret if you didn’t manage to get them, as the Papal Mass will be streamed online, too. Tip: check out the official website for more details on this historic visit.
2. Music legend returns: A.R. Rahman’s concert

We’ve welcomed British rock band Coldplay in January, followed by international superstar Taylor Swift in March, and now, another legend in the music industry is set to take centre stage. We’re talking about the legendary composer and music maestro, A.R. Rahman! Synonymous with soulful and compelling music, this multiple Oscar and Grammy Award-winning artiste will hold his concert – Greatest Hits of A.R. Rahman, A Rahman Rhapsody Live in Singapore – on 31 August 2024.
Fans of Rahman, you’re probably already buzzing with excitement as this marks his return to Singapore after a whopping decade! And here’s another mind-blowing fact: it’ll be the first Indian concert to be held at the National Stadium. Join in for a spectacular night, featuring his well-loved classic film scores and greatest hits. Priced between $148 and $398, tickets are available online. You don’t wanna miss one of the biggest Indian music events in Singapore history!
