Cocktails. Cable cars. Coastlines… If you’re in need of a weekend escape, take this Sentosa staycation itinerary as your sign to check in.
A Sentosa staycation is one of the best ways to beat city stress without hopping on a plane. Just a short train ride from the city, this tropical retreat offers the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. I’ve enjoyed a few Sentosa getaways myself, and trust me – going on a mini holiday without the travel fatigue is a huge win. If city stress is getting to you, check yourself into a staycation with my ultimate weekend itinerary recommendations.
Day one: Cocktails at Tanjong Beach Club or +Twelve, and evening explorations at Sensoryscape
First things first, you’ll want a convenient base for the ideal island retreat. Siloso Beach Resort is an accessible pick that sits along the stretch of Siloso Beach housing buzzing beach bars and seaside eateries.

Once you’ve dropped off your bags, kick off your Sentosa staycation with sundowners and a feast. Hit up Tanjong Beach Club for a laidback lounge with classic cocktails and coastal cuisine – crowd favourites from the grill include Tajima wagyu Denver steak, wood-fired half chicken, and wild caught king tiger prawns with sambal.
Alternatively, make your way to +Twelve for inventive cocktails and refreshing spritzes alongside an array of delectable dishes such as sushi rolls, black angus sliders, ghost pepper marinated tiger prawns and homemade skin-on fries.

Unwind for the evening with a scenic stroll. Sensoryscape offers a captivating path through multi-sensorial gardens that’s a treat for the senses. Step inside the Scented Sphere for a whiff of Sentosa’s therapeutic flora, and enjoy the soothing soundscape of trickling water at Symphony Streams. Don’t forget to download the ImagiNite app for AR surprises, then take a walk through Glow Garden, where giant illuminated flower stalks flank the path. There are even free special performances and activities happening on Fridays and Saturdays!
Day two: Adventures at Singapore Oceanarium, Skypark Sentosa, and HyperDrive

Explore the wonders of the deep at the newly reopened Singapore Oceanarium. Admire incredible marine life through 22 multi-sensory zones and discover the sheer scale of marine biodiversity. It’s said that observing aquariums reduces stress levels, so reset your frazzled brain at this marine wonderland with schools of swirling fish to admire. Psst: you can even get hands-on by touching shark eggs and having shrimps nibble away on your fingers.

All that awe works up an appetite – and pleasingly, Weave Sentosa is right next door with an array of restaurants to pop into. Snag a seat at Chatterbox Cafe, bringing its legendary chicken rice to the heart of Sentosa. Feast on tender slices of chicken, fluffy rice, and piquant chilli sauce for a comforting dish that never misses. The menu also includes other local favourites like seafood Hokkien mee and Peranakan assam barramundi.

Next, hop on the Singapore Cable Car – Sentosa line. There’s nothing like pretending to be a tourist in your own city to make it feel like a real vacay, after all. This sky-high ride glides you above the beaches and greenery, giving you a bird’s eye view of the island in all its sunny glory. Hop off at Siloso Point Station for a breezy stroll along the buzzy Siloso Beach.

Looking for a dose of adrenaline? Shake things up with a bungee jump at Skypark Sentosa by AJ Hackett with the sea beneath you. We reckon that’s one way to cure deadline stress. If you aren’t quite ready to dive headfirst from a dizzying height, swing by HyperDrive for a go at indoor electric go-karting with high-octane fun.
After the thrills, it’s time to soak up the last of the rays at golden hour before heading back to reality. Lounge at Tanjong Beach Club with a spritz in hand, or stretch out on a daybed at +Twelve for an hour or two before leaving the island.
