Fancy some scones, sandwiches and sparkling? Check into 10 SCOTTS at Grand Hyatt Singapore for a proper, pampering spot of afternoon tea in the city
There is nothing like indulging in high tea at a swanky hotel in Singapore. Sipping free-flow Champagne, scoffing down fresh oysters followed by aged cheese – and maybe a scone or three – is the recipe to a long afternoon well spent. It’s time to practice lifting your pinkies people, because we are going to give you all the reasons why you need to book yourselves an arvo at 10 SCOTTS at the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
Perfect for special occasions
Whether it’s your BFF’s birthday, a baby shower, a leaving do, or just a Saturday afternoon with the girlfriends, there are 101 good reasons to gather the troops and spoil yourself with a lavish afternoon tea.
On tap is…
10 SCOTTS has a huge selection of fragrant teas to choose from for your sipping pleasure, be it classic black tea, flavoured black tea, flavoured oolong tea, antioxidant-filled green tea, white tea, jasmine, herbal, floral tea, or even rosebud tea.
But before you get too carried away on the ambrosial brews we just mentioned, you can also opt for free-flow, premium Perrier-Jouet champagne (well hello there, bubbles!), red and white wines, cocktails and more, which we’d totally recommend pouncing on at the drop of a hat.
The spread
Expect to feast on selection of freshly-shucked oysters, gourmet sandwiches, curry puffs, shaved prosciutto, Scottish salmon, chicken liver pâté, and an impressive array of cheeses. There is also a good selection of local dishes like fresh popiah, crab cakes with remoulade sauce, and kaya jam – which pairs beautifully with a generous serving of clotted cream on a freshly baked scone (an East-meets-West high tea… can lah!).
You’re going to want – no, need – to save room for desserts. We dived into the cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and delectable, almost-too-cute-to-eat, mini macarons. There is also affogato vanilla bean ice-cream, as well as a selection of tarts and other scrummy things to spoil your palate with.
Fun Fact
Did you know that the tradition of afternoon tea originated in the 19th century? What a smart idea to hit upon, we say!
