Looking to make friends as an adult? Our Honeycombers x Launchpad presentation night event is one of the easiest ways to end the night with a few new friends on Instagram. We know that when it comes to socialising as an adult, it’s easy to get bogged down by the awkwardness and the hassle of having to suss out suitable third spaces to meet like-minded folks. Plus, there’s so many tasks on our to-do list that it can feel tough to put ourselves out there.
With all that in mind, we’re putting a spin on the typical networking sesh with a fun – and possibly chaotic – presentation night (don’t worry, each presentation is only 3.5 minutes!) where you get to pitch your pals to a room full of potential new besties.

Mini slides, maximum personality
Think: mini presentation night, with sips and nibbles to fuel your socialising. If you’d like to present, grab your tickets and submit your slides in advance via a shared Google Drive link (so we can cue everything smoothly on the night). No formal business decks, no corporate jargon – just stories, inside jokes, and the kind of details only a friend would know.
Drinks, slushies and a very good-looking venue
We’re hosting the night at Lumina by White Shades – a space that strikes that perfect balance between polished and inviting. Think warm lighting, sleek interiors and enough atmosphere to make you feel like you’re somewhere special (but not somewhere you have to whisper).
From 7pm to 9pm, enjoy cocktails on tap, mini alcoholic slushies and bar bites while the pitches unfold. The final menu is still being confirmed, but you can count on good drinks and easy snacks to keep conversations flowing.
Break the ice with tarot readings and caricatures
If you’re looking for more ice-breaker ideas beyond the tidbits in the presentations, we’ve got your back. Head to the oracle reading booth for a fun tarot reading session by NARR and bond over your future predictions or personality readings. Alternatively, have a laugh over your caricatures drawn by Faizal Caricatures (they make great keepsakes, too).

Let’s be honest: once school is over, making new friends takes effort. We’re all busy and tend to default to our existing circles. And yet, most of us are quietly open to meeting new people… if only there were a less awkward way to do it. And that’s what this night is about.
