Szechuan Court adds two new flavours to its range of signature mooncakes this Mid-Autumn Festival.
Mooncake season is upon us once again! While we’re absolutely thrilled to see what’s in store this Mid-Autumn Festival (durian anyone?), shopping for these festive goodies in Singapore isn’t easy (too many flavours; too little time). There are, however, a few names we repeatedly turn to for smashing flavours when we can’t afford to taste-test various offerings — and Szechuan Court at Fairmont Singapore is one of them.
This year, the restaurant’s well-known Dim Sum Chef Mandy Yeo (who’s had 25 years of experience in crafting exquisite mooncakes) is rolling out signature snowskin creations like Champagne Truffle & Chocolate Ganache, Bailey’s Chocolate and Rum & Raisin Chocolate Truffle. Big on traditional baked mooncakes? Pick up a box of classics like the Double Yolk in White Lotus Paste and Peach-Shaped Single Yolk & Macadamia Nuts in White Lotus Paste.

On top of the familiar flavours, there are two new additions available this season. Created by both Mandy Yeo and Executive Pastry Chef Sebastien Cocquery-Beraud, the Yuzu Passion Snowskin Mooncake is a perfect example of East meets West – white chocolate praline infused with aromatic yuzu, it’s an intriguing combination of creaminess and zest. Then, there’s the Autumn Treasures Baked Mooncake, which features five different grains – sunflower seed, melon seed, white sesame, almond, and walnut in white lotus paste.
Szechuan Court’s mooncakes come packaged in pretty SG50-themed boxes that’s perfect for gifting. Patterned with the national flower, orchids, the deep purple-coloured box makes a lovely keepsake. There’s also the limited edition mooncake box designed like a tower drawer box and cloaked with a silk-like material to double as a jewellery chest.
