Bet you didn’t know about this two-storey hidden gem that’s tucked away along Orchard Road! Here’s what to check out at this one stop destination for homeware, furniture and food…
What happens when you combine European furniture and Mediterranean cuisine in a beautiful space? That’s House of AnLi for you. This hidden gem of a store is one of our faves in Tanglin Mall and we’re letting you in on what’s inside the two-storey space. For those who prefer browsing from your couch, it has an online store, too.
Elevate your home with modern European furniture
Started by Greek-Belgian husband-and-wife team, Panagiotis Lynas and Anne-Jean Lietaer, House of AnLi offers furniture and homeware from brands like Laguiole, Flamant, Fatboy and Costa Nova. Here’s the lowdown of its selection: expect a curated range of home accessories, tableware, lighting, as well as indoor and outdoor furniture picks for every room in your abode. The cherry on top? The store’s bespoke design services featuring 100% premium Belgian linens!
And now that December is around the corner, it’s time to shop the festive collection. Prep for a Christmas party with Augusta’s patterned serving plates (because everything tastes better in a fancy dish!) and traditional Panettone from Italian pastry brand Dolce & Gabbana x Fiasconaro. While you’re at it, why not treat yourself to a Mariage Frères tea advent calendar? For those who love a good cuppa, it’s the perfect way to count down to the most wonderful season of the year. The full festive selection awaits at House of AnLi, so hop on over, stat.
Pop into the bistro for Belgian-inspired delights
Hidden behind the store on level three of Tanglin Mall is House of AnLi’s cosy bistro. Here, lovingly prepared recipes take centrestage. Swing by for a dose of Allpress coffee and a casual bite: the Belgian-inspired brunch menu features Belgian waffle, fresh bouchot mussels, eggs benedict, steak frites and more throughout the day.
For the festive season, tuck in to celebratory brunch with delicious additions to the menu such as stuffed turkey breast roulade, Mons Fromager cheese platter and trio of foie gras. End the meal on a sweet note with Borsari classic panettone casserole, orange blossom rum baba and the chocolate bomb – the latter is an Instagram-worthy treat made with hot milk, chocolate chips, cocoa and flower marshmallows. (Think hot Belgian chocolate, but upgraded!)
Discover pure Greek flavours at Pano Kato
Fun fact: Pano Kato means upstairs and downstairs in Greek. Referring to the furniture store and bistro on the upper level, and the restaurant and homeware store a level below, this name started as wordplay between the owners but it stuck!
Step inside for authentic Greek Mediterranean cuisine set in a bright and airy space for a tropical ambiance, located on level three of Tanglin Mall. (Psst: if any of the furnishings catch your eye, you can shop them from House of AnLi’s store!) Savour sumptuous family recipes like three dips with pita, soutzoukakia (Greek-style wagyu meatballs with orzo pasta), oven brick pizza (gluten-free and keto base preferences available), spanakopita (a savoury filo pastry with chopped spinach, dill and feta), alongside others on the menu.
Dropping by for festive treats? Feast on a whole Mediterranean roast turkey, maple and pineapple glazed gammon ham bone-in, grilled Alaskan king crab leg, Greek festive pizza and more Christmassy crowd-pleasers.
Go forth and stock up on House of AnLi’s space-elevating essentials for a house party, or round up your loved ones for a gathering at its restaurant or bistro. Once your plans are sorted, all that’s left to do is to enjoy the company and give yourself a well-deserved break.
