Doesn’t matter if you’re travelling with the family, or looking for a romantic spot for the grand honeymoon – there’s definitely something for everyone on this list curated by the Honeycombers team.
Iniala Beach House, Phuket, Thailand
This place is super swish and artistically decorated. Every room is different (check out the Villa Bianca up there)! Each villa also has a private spa room, and the Collector’s Villa has a movie room with the squishiest, fluffiest seats. They’ll cook you whatever you want, and the communal dining room has great views of the private beach. If you’re sporty, you can arrange for water sports, yoga, Thai boxing, boot camp and more with the in-house trainers.

The Shorea Seremban, Berembun, Malaysia
Built within a tropical nature reserve, The Shorea’s secluded villas are a big hit with families and big groups. They’re each extremely spacious and offer magnificent views of the verdant greenery, mountainous region and gorgeous salt water infinity pool. A perfect luxe getaway without scrimping on everyday comfort!

Thalpe House, Galle, Sri Lanka
During a stroll along the beach in Galle in January this year, I wandered past a huge, beautiful villa perched on the water’s edge with an incredible pool running through the middle and fell in love. There are a lot of stunning, affordable villas in Galle, but this one was right up my street; colonial charm meets French farmhouse. Fast-forward six months and I’ve booked this villa for my bridal party (I’m getting married in the area next year). It sleeps 14 people, comes with a chef and staff, and the price tag is very reasonable at SGD1126 a night (SGD160 per room a night).

Nikoi Island, Bintan, Indonesia
I’ve never been but I will someday! And I’ll definitely book this beautiful three-bedroom villa. Nikoi’s a private island just 50 miles from Singers. Awesome for a quick getaway, I say.

Nikoi Island, Kabupaten Bintan, Kepulauan Riau 29153, Indonesia.

Asian Luxury Villas, Phuket, Thailand
Phuket’s super fast and easy to get to from Singapore, but I don’t always love the vibe there. It’s a whole new experience when you’re away from the action, nestled in a quiet hillside corner of the massive island in a private villa. This palatial villa has four floors, four suites and an infinity pool – giving the gang plenty of room to roam around. There’s even a private gym (not that we used it!). The beach, shops and restaurants are within walking distance so you can explore… but why bother leaving?! The staff will cook you an amazing Thai feast of your choosing and the sunsets from the villa are killer!

Uma by COMO, Punakha, Bhutan
I’d love to experience sleepy Bhutan in this gorgeous spot. Located at the far western end of the lush Punakha Valley and overlooking the Mo Chu river, this intimate lodge is my idea of the perfect place for a meditation retreat. I mean, c’mon… look at the view you can get from the villas!

Banyan Tree Al Wadi, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
Something very different from my usual beach getaway, the Banyan Tree Al Wadi features all these unique-looking villas located right smack in the middle of the desert. Here in the protected Wadi Khadeja sanctuary, you can encounter Arabian gazelles and camels, laze around by your villa’s very own infinity pool, enjoy the hydrotherapy spa facilities… oh, there’s no end to the list of things to do! But then again, I might not even want to leave my villa!

Inle Resort, Shan State, Myanmar
I’m plotting a minibreak in Myanmar and I would love to stay in one of the super-secluded lakeside villas at Inle – it’s a bijou eco resort where you can gaze at the fishing boats on Inlay Lake and peace out listening to the birds. Love that it has its own chemical-free farm, too. Blissful little spot!

The Sea Shanty, Bali, Indonesia
This is my favourite villa in Asia because of the amazing location and the incredible staff. A luxurious four-bedroom villa, The Sea Shanty is only 100 metres from one of the best beaches in Bali and promises an ultra-relaxing stay for anyone on a family holiday. Read all about it here.

One Eleven, Bali, Indonesia
Because I always like having the best of both worlds: being at the heart of all the glitzy action (where there’s plenty to eat, do, and shop at your doorstep), yet feeling miles away, I choose luxury boutique resort One Eleven. And boy oh boy, is this one super sexy villa! I stayed there recently, and you can read the full review here.
