Things to do at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau
1. Immerse yourself (virtually) in the deep sea with Naked Ocean

Beyond its glitz and glam, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau is hosting an immersive art exhibition and a series of festive installations. From now until 16 March, the hotel will host a maritime exhibition from Japanese creative company, Naked, Inc.
Naked Ocean takes visitors on an immersive journey through the deep sea – and you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy this! I was in awe of the true-to-life visuals throughout the exhibition, not to mention the interactive displays scattered across its eight thematic zones. Needless to say, this is the perfect way to explore the ocean without getting wet. If you’re planning to visit Naked Ocean during your stay, don’t forget to book a ticket online ahead of time.
2. Enjoy a Snoopy-themed Chinese New Year

On the festive side, the resort has partnered with popular cartoon character, Snoopy, for a series of installations and a pop-up store, which are available until 16 February. Make your way around the resort and catch Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and Woodstock in exclusive CNY festive costumes. Here’s our hint – enter from the West Lobby and be greeted by Snoopy and Friends!

3. Feast to your heart’s content at The Grand Buffet

Chinese New Year isn’t complete without a feast. So, treat yourself and your family to the abundant spread at The Grand Buffet! As with all buffets, it’s best to be strategic about what you fill your plate with. I found the live seafood selection to be a must-try! Simply take your pick from the fish tanks at the entrance to the restaurant and have it prepared immediately by expert chefs. Additionally, The Grand Buffet’s Cantonese, Macanese, and Southeast Asia delicacies are something to write home about. And of course, we always leave room for dessert, especially the Portuguese egg tarts!
4. Savour adorable bites at GLP Lobby Lounge

Over at GLP Lobby Lounge, you’ll find a PEANUTS-themed menu. Not only are these adorable items perfect for the ’gram, but they taste just as good, too! Younger guests will love the Snoopy deep-fried pork pattie or curry chicken with rice, where Snoopy snores away under a fluffy blanket of scrambled eggs. But rest assured that this CNY menu also caters to more mature palates.
The BBQ beef burger with fries gets our stamp of approval for swapping out the traditional patty with stir-fried beef slices as a lighter alternative. On the other hand, the Lucky Snoopy Latte gave us a much-needed caffeine boost after waking up early for a morning ferry. The adorable Snoopy latte art that came with this cuppa made our day.
5. Dine on dim sum at The Eight

If you’re travelling with tweens and teens, make your way to Grand Lisboa Macau on the Macau side by taking a free shuttle. This sister property of Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau is home to the opulent Chinese restaurant, The Eight. This two Michelin-starred and Black Pearl Guide Two-Diamond restaurant offers an extensive menu of dim sum and Cantonese dishes. In particular, its dim sum offerings get full points on presentation and innovation for its adorable animal-themed designs.
Hunker down in The Eight’s symbolically designed interior for an auspicious meal. Oh, and don’t miss out on limited-time CNY specials like the mini seafood poon choi and nourishing double-boiled sea whelk, abalone, and chicken soup with matsutake mushroom.

6. Unwind in style at this home-away-from-home

One of the things we love most about Grand Lisboa Palace is its spacious hotel rooms. Serving as a quiet oasis from the city’s hustle and bustle, families can unwind in a cosy room complete with walk-in closets, a separate bathroom, and a separate living area.
We were also impressed with the impeccable timing of the hotel’s concierge service, which delivered our bags just as we entered our room. Depending on your room type, you’ll wake up to either stunning views of Macau’s cityscape in Cotai or the resort’s very own secret garden, Jardim Secreto.

Elegant pavilions and a suspended walkway lead the way into Jardim Secreto, an European-styled garden populated by stunning evergreens, hedge mazes, and pristine lawns. Whether it be a casual stroll with a loved one or a fun-filled adventure with your family, the lush greenery of this secret garden makes the perfect backdrop.

After dropping off your luggage at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort, be sure to plan an afternoon excursion to one of the city’s UNESCO heritage sites, so you’re not wandering aimlessly around the hotel. The nearby Taipa village is an ideal choice, where Portuguese and Chinese cultures meet in unique ways.
The Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau is truly an ideal hotel for vacationing families in Macau, especially during Chinese New Year. Keep in mind that the hotel gets pretty packed during festive seasons, so book your room in advance!
