The OG Dubai chocolate bar

The crunchy, knafeh-stuffed chocolate bars went viral on TikTok in 2023 with a video by Maria Vehera that has since racked up 7.5 million likes. Dubbed ‘Dubai chocolate’, this dessert bar was launched in 2022 by Fix Dessert Chocolatier. This now-famous dessert store was founded by husband-and-wife team Yezen Alani and Sarah Hamouda, who wanted to share Dubai’s vibrant chocolate scene with chocolate fans worldwide.

What we now know as Dubai chocolate launched as Can’t Get Knafeh of It, a bar dreamt up by Sarah from her pregnancy cravings. The milk chocolate bar is decorated in green and orange speckles, hiding a crunchy filo pastry mixed with a nutty pistachio and tahini paste within. Nutty, sweet, and creamy, this dessert bar was inspired by the Middle Eastern dessert knafeh, and it went on to win fans across the globe.
