Can’t wait until the 21 July to see which restaurants in Singapore will be awarded a coveted Michelin star? Us neither, which is why we’ll be hot-footing it down to Resorts World Sentosa between the 8 and 15 July for a spot of Michelin-starred fine dining courtesy of the fanciest culinary pop-up event to hit the Red Dot; Art at Curate. Launched in collaboration with the Michelin Guide Singapore and Robert Parker Wine Advocate, this year-long foodie extravaganza is a celebration of exquisite nosh and culinary art. Expect world-renowned chefs whipping up top notch menus that will leave you salivating. If you missed the first edition (hosted by none other than three-star Michelin chef, Massimiliano Alajmo of La Calandre fame) you’ll want to make a reservation pronto; we have a sneaking suspicion tables at this gastro-fest won’t be around for long!
The gastro geeks among us will already be familiar with CURATE; the first Michelin-chef showcase restaurant in Asia. And taking over the reins for the second edition of Art at Curate is two-star Michelin chef, Guy Martin. Currently the chef-owner of Parisian based Le Grand Vefour (an institution of the Parisian dining scene since 1784; even Napoleon dined there!) he will be flying the flag for bold, modern, French cuisine in his epic lunch and dinner offerings. Our tums were certainly rumbling after taking a sneak peek at his delish menus!
The four-course lunch menu sounds divine; think foie gras terrines, rolled seabass with black olives, roasted turbot, ribbed veal loin, and caramelised pineapple with honey and a passionfruit biscuit. Or up the ante at dinner by indulging in Martin’s eight-course gastro feast that showcases the very finest of French ingredients. We’re talking lobster, foie gras, turbot, truffles, Bresse chicken… we could go on, you get the gist; dining doesn’t get more sophisticated than this!
The third and fourth editions of Art at Curate are set to land in September and November 2016; stay tuned for further news on which Michelin-starred chefs will be cooking up a storm here.
