From sumptuous dining options to amazing views, these hotels will guarantee your F1 experience will be the best one yet!
The F1 Singapore Grand Prix is happening from 14-16 September, and while the entertainment lineup may not have struck a chord with us, we’re sure the only night race in the city will be absolutely exhilarating. Because we know braving the Singapore heat and drinking beer out of plastic cups isn’t for everyone, we’ve checked out the luxe hotels where you can clink your champagne glasses or sip on cocktails and relish a birds-eye view of this extravagant event while holed up in your cozy room…
Ritz Carlton Millenia
For the quintessential luxurious experience, snag yourself a room (or suite) here, pronto. Apart from being the closest hotel to the circuit, your stay at this lavish five-star establishment will grant you a panoramic view of the city’s skyline and – get this – a bubble bath in its marble bathrooms. This year, Ritz Carlton Millenia will also be playing host to the exclusive Podium Lounge party, a celebrity packed event. While the entertainment lineup this year hasn’t pressed all our buttons, you’ll still get a chance to get up-close with the F1 superstars. To complete your regal experience, dine at Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Summer Pavilion or indulge in a decadent buffet spread at The Colony.

JW Marriott Hotel South Beach
It’s all about the super location for this international hotel, and by super, we mean right at turn seven of the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Check yourself into paradise and enjoy dining at the likes of Japanese restaurant Akira Back and Beach Road Kitchen (which has one of the best free-flow Sunday brunches, we say). When you’re not hunkering down by the sky gardens or outdoor pools, Suntec City is also a stone’s throw away, where you can unleash your shopaholic tendencies at the many upscale boutiques and outlets.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
It doesn’t get grander than this. Built in 1928, the rich heritage of The Fullerton Hotel eventually landed it a placing as one of Singapore’s national monuments. For the foodies, this lush hotel has got you covered. Take your pick from a variety of sumptuous restaurants – an insane buffet spread at Town Restaurant, Italian fare at The Lighthouse Restaurant and Rooftop Bar, and finish off the night with some drinks at Post Bar. As you would expect, this architectural marvel features a range of luxe suites, with the floor to ceiling windows offering an unparalleled view of the circuit. The track might only be a five-minute walk away, but this hotel will have guests wondering if they should even step foot outside at all.

Impeccably clean rooms and a decor to match are just the tip of the iceberg for the Mandarin Oriental. This fancy establishment boasts an outdoor pool, a spa and a spectacle of dining options. Throw in an unobstructed view of turns 16-19 and you’ll be in hotel heaven. Fancy a drink? Head over to Axis Bar and Lounge which overlooks the city skyline, and snuggle up in the cozy chairs as the cars whiz by below you. Talk about pleasure!

Marina Bay Sands
A fan of its design or not, you can’t deny that Marina Bay Sands is the pride and joy of Singapore’s hotel scene. It’s iconic infinity pool and skypark offers arguably the most picturesque view of the city skyline, and for the F1 weekend, a perfect vantage point to catch the thrilling action. Make dining the star of your stay and indulge in a whole range of cuisines from Thai to Cantonese and even themed restaurants. The best part? If you’re feeling upset that your favourite driver didn’t win or maybe simply feeling a tad lucky, head over to the casino and dabble in some roulette.

This majestic hotel is also close to the City Hall train station, which will provide a gateway to shopping havens and city landscapes. Alternatively, embark on an epicurean adventure at any of the hotel’s 12 dining options, including delectable French fare at JAAN. What’s more, if the deafening race somehow isn’t enough for you, head over to Bar Rouge, where the pulsating beats are guaranteed to ensure you wake up the next stay with ringing ears…and a nasty hangover.

Located in the bustling Bugis district, this elegant hotel does no wrong. Its spacious rooms are decorated with a mix of British colonial and oriental influence and some of them offer quite the view of the F1 race. Looking for something to do during the day? Step out into shopping paradise – think Bugis Junction, Bugis Plus or even take a stroll down the many alleys of Bugis Street where you can sample a wide array of food and clothes (bargaining works here). If you’re more into lounging around the hotel, InterContinental is also renowned for its extensive dining options, from Japanese food at Chikuyotei to European fare at Ash & Elm.
