Under the BIG Tree is SCDT’s highly anticipated outdoor dance carnival, set against the iconic big tree at the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy.
This year, we celebrate the friendships and connections forged through dance, embracing friends from diverse ethnicities and nationalities. Alongside captivating showcases by SCDT’s company dancers, performance troupes, and students, audiences can look forward to a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity and community spirit.
Beyond the stage, the carnival offers an exciting lineup of fringe activities, including cultural games, workshops, and more. A variety of delightful treats will also be available to complete the festive experience. Guests are encouraged to bring along their picnic mats and enjoy a unique outdoor evening of dance, food, and fun under the stars.

Admission is free. Guests may also purchase an optional Privilege Pass ($ 7 inclusive of GST and ticketing charges) for exclusive perks.
Each Privilege Pass holder will receive a carnival snack (Popcorn, Candy Floss, or Ice Cream), a welcome drink, and a chance to win lucky draw prizes. The first 400 pass holders will receive a priority-entry wristband to access the indoor hall should the event move indoors in the event of rain. The welcome drink is proudly sponsored by UFC Refresh Singapore, and the lucky draw gifts are generously sponsored by The Cocoa Trees Singapore.
