Creamie Sippies review: We rate our favourite matcha drinks
Originally launched in Bukit Merah, this is the first cafe in Singapore with its own matcha mill – that means fresh matcha powder on the reg! And it has quickly gained a following for its smooth sips and 500ml servings made with 100% Uji matcha. When we heard that it has a new pop-up at Takashimaya, we swung by to try all the matcha flavours we could drink in one sitting (spoiler: it was a lot but so worth it)…

Strawberry matcha latte: 5/5
The strawberry matcha latte ($8.90) is our top pick, with the ideal ratio of strawberry puree to matcha. There was just the right amount sweetness from the strawberry, which complemented the matcha beautifully while still letting its verdant, umami notes shine through. We love.
Classic matcha latte: 4.5/5
A clean, smooth cuppa with a hint of umami. We’d take a cup of this freshly whisked matcha latte ($7.90) from Creamie Sippies any day. And did we mention the generous portion size? We’d say it’s worth the money.
Uji mokomaru matcha latte: 4.5/5

If the classic matcha latte isn’t matcha enough for you, order up this version with a scoop of matcha ice cream instead. This Uji mokomaru matcha latte ($11.90) tastes like a stronger (and slightly sweeter) version of the former, topped with a creamy and milky ice cream. The flavours blend perfectly, and tasted great even when the ice cream started to melt.
Banana pudding matcha latte: 3.5/5

The banana pudding matcha latte ($9.90) consists of a freshly whisked matcha poured over milk, topped with two scoops of banana pudding and a Biscoff biscuit. Here’s our honest take: while this is Creamie Sippies’ most viral matcha drink, it surprisingly wasn’t our favourite.
The banana pudding was incredible on its own (you can get a cup for $7.60), and the matcha latte was delectable as usual. But we found that the flavours weren’t as harmonious as we expected, with the banana pudding slightly overpowering the matcha and obscuring its umami notes.
If you’re getting this, consume it promptly because the Biscoff biscuit and pudding melted into the drink pretty quickly, even in the A/C.
Our verdict

Would we come back? Absolutely. Hot tip: we recommend ordering the strawberry matcha latte with a side of banana pudding. That way, you can enjoy all the flavours of the matcha latte, strawberry matcha, and banana pudding matcha as you wish, without having to order multiple drinks.
