Address: Courtyard by Marriott Danang Han River, No 58 Bach Dang Street, Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang, Vietnam, 55000
The rooms: Spacious, modern, clean

With my family of two teens and a tween, I was drawn to the hotel by its location, value, and the promise of an excellent buffet. Stepping in, the lobby is strikingly elegant, setting the tone for a sleek, comfortable stay. Outside, you’re immediately in the thick of Da Nang’s markets, a plethora of restaurants, and that vibrant Vietnamese city buzz. It’s perfect for exploring without relying on transport, thanks to its location near the Han River and Da Nang city centre.
The rooms are generous in size, polished, and modern, giving everyone space to unpack and relax. Even without connecting rooms, they feel practical for a family. We had two rooms, and they offered impressive views – one overlooking the iconic Dragon Bridge. It truly felt like we were in the centre of the city and a stone’s throw from everything.
Tip: don’t miss out on a swim at the inviting rooftop pool, with its gorgeous, sweeping views. Oh, and service was excellent throughout: friendly, attentive, and efficient without being overbearing.
The food: A standout breakfast buffet and more

If you’re an early riser like me, the breakfast buffet is a treat for the family. It’s extensive yet well-organised, offering Vietnamese classics, Western staples, and delicious treats. My family’s favourite? Crispy fried banana and, surprisingly, the “hair of the dog” cocktail station, a playful touch that adds luxury and fun (not that we let the teenagers get into that station).
The hotel is home to four distinct dining spots, each offering something a little different. The Landmark Restaurant is an all-day dining venue, serving everything from generous breakfast buffets to relaxed evening meals. For your caffeine fix, The Chill Bean delivers artisan coffee in a cosy setting, while The Lobby Lounge – TWG Tea is the go-to for an elegant tea break, complete with a refined selection of TWG blends.
For something truly special, head skyward to M45 Rooftop Bar & Omakase – it’s the highest rooftop bar in Da Nang’s city centre. Expect sweeping panoramic views, exquisite Japanese omakase, handcrafted cocktails, and vibrant live performances. It’s an elevated dining experience in every sense, and one you won’t forget in a hurry.
The location: Perfect for exploring Da Nang and beyond

One of the best things we loved about Courtyard by Marriott Danang Han River was the location. It’s smack bang in the middle of Da Nang – walking distance to the famous Dragon Bridge and Han River, which is really the pride and joy of the city.
My family also loved Han Market, a two-storey local market which has fresh fruit and street food snacks downstairs, alongside handbags, hoodies, silk scarves, lanterns and gifts upstairs. My kids were thrilled with their haul of headphones, manga figurines, and sneakers.
Further afield, my personal favourite is Hoi An’s Old Town, which is a 1-hour drive from Da Nang. Who doesn’t love old towns with lanterns and cobblestone streets? We thoroughly enjoyed our three-hour cooking class at Breeze Restaurant, which started with a basket boat ride before we headed into the kitchen and learnt how to make curries and pancakes. It was a perfect combination of action, fun, learning and eating – oh, and learning to flip pancakes with mixed results.

There’s also the Marble Mountains, where we explored supercaves, mountains, and beautiful temples. Plus, the Insta-famous Ba Na Hills, which has one of the world’s longest cable cars, the Golden Bridge (aka the famous bridge held by hands), and Fantasy Park’s rides and arcade games, all engulfed in cool mountain air.
Overall, the hotel is ideal for business travellers, families, or couples seeking a contemporary, central base in Da Nang. So if you’re looking for a polished, five-star stay that sits in the heart of the action and has excellent value for money, Courtyard by Marriott Danang Han River quietly delivers.
