Store Snoop: Bloesem Creative Space
Call it fate, a stroke of luck, or simply snooping, but we’ve found our new happy place. Bloesem Creative Space – which opened this year just opposite our beloved Tiong Bahru Bakery – is a haven for those who love home and decor design and have an eye for detail. Follow us while we snoop this cool studio space and store.
The store stocks home and lifestyle products from local and international designers. If unique, handmade products are your weakness, you’ll need the power to stop time so you can linger here for hours.
You might get the impulse to buy literally everything here, but listen to the voice of reason and chalk up items on your wishlist like we did. Our list includes Bloesem’s gem necklace, FineLittleDay’s teardrop-printed cushion, and Rok’s concrete paperweight. And now that we know chic buttering boards actually exist (thanks IKONIK), we want one too.
Don’t miss out on a chance to pick up a new hobby or skill here. This bright and airy venue holds classes on a whole range of subjects, from modern calligraphy and food styling to successful blogging tips. How clever!
The story behind the store is truly inspiring. Founder Irene Hoofs left her hometown, Amsterdam, in 1997 and travelled the globe before planting her roots in Singas. She set up the Bloesem Living blog in 2006, causing the Internet to explode with beautiful images of quintessential Dutch designs brimming with thoughtfulness and elegance, way before Pinterest came along. Now, her online offerings can be found at one hip neighbourhood, and we couldn’t be happier.
Bet you can’t resist. We may see you there!
