We asked, you answered. Read on for the responses we received, plus a new life planning app that’ll help you achieve your goals.
2022 is round the corner and you know what that means: fresh journals, new year’s resolutions and the like. While we’re thinking about the future, we asked you on Instagram about your new year goals. As it turns out, money and fitness are top-of-mind for many. Well, there’s good news because we found a nifty new app that helps with mapping out your goals. But first, read on for the new year’s resolutions you shared.
General goals: Mindfulness and quality time

Two years of increased at-home time (yes, it has been that long) has made us incredibly aware of the importance of human connection and mental wellbeing. Naturally, many people are aiming to take better care of themselves as well as their loved ones by making time to connect – and so are we.
“In 2022, I’d like to be more aware of how I spend my time, either with friends, family or even myself. I also wanna spend more time working on my growth.” – Danial
“I want to be more mindful of my mental health, especially when we will be returning to work and meeting more people. Also, hopefully I’ll be more conscious of how I spend my free time and not waste it on social media.” – Janessa
“I’ll be more mindful of my actions and reactions, particularly when people talk of or do things that I disagree with and/or make me feel bad. I have to remind myself that we can agree to disagree and that there’s no need for me to get someone “on my side” or prove that their views are “wrong”. More importantly, I have to remind myself that no one has the right to make me feel shitty.” – Sufyan
“I aim to allocate more quality time to the important people in my life!” – Rebecca
Health and fitness goals: Eating well and moving more

Gift-giving aside, there are few things that scream “holidays!” than stuffing yourself silly with indulgent dinners and sweet treats. But, many are keen to get into shape in the new year (even if only after the year-end festivities). So let your hair down this December before creating a fitness and healthy eating plan in time for January.
“I hope to be able to find a personal trainer to help me with my specific body goals, and to be able to confidently enter a gym!” – Janessa
“In the new year, I want to be more mindful of my diet and eat healthily.” – Lord
“I hope to be more fit and conscious of the food that I’m eating in 2022!” – Rebecca
Money goals: Savings, investments and budgeting
You know you’re ‘adulting’ when you start discussing investments and savings with your crew. We saw many money-related new year’s resolutions and we’re taking notes for ourselves. Baby steps add up, so start small with realistic micro-goals in 2022, whether that’s taking a daily money minute to review your finances or setting aside a small amount to invest every month.
“My goal is to start investing. If you were to ask me 10 years ago, if I’d invest, my answer is a flat-out ‘no’. But I guess now my mindset has changed, and I’m not so risk-averse when it comes to investing. A small step for me, a giant step for my (passive) income.” – Sufyan
“I’m aiming to have $10-15k in savings next year!” – Lord
“My goal is to be more savvy when it comes to savings and investments, and have a structured plan.” – Nic

“I hope to be able to maintain a healthy amount of savings each month as my monthly expenditure is set to increase from spending more time in the office.” – Rebecca
“For next year, I want to not overspend and keep within my set budget.” – Andrew
“I want to be more mindful of the 50/30/20% rule when saving.” – Janessa
“I would like to have more investments, save $10k and have enough to travel at least twice in 2022.” – Danial

Leisure travel is still far from what it was during pre-Covid times, but many are still optimistic about the opportunities for overseas getaways. Fingers crossed for the easing of travel restrictions and more chances to see the world!
“I want to visit more countries now that travel is (kinda) back!” – Lord
“I’d like to finally travel to Europe for the first time and live in amazing Airbnbs!” – Janessa
