Shop for cheap electronics in Hong Kong
1. Golden Building
Golden Building consists of two parts: Golden Computer Arcade and Golden Computer Centre – and as the names suggest, the deals are indeed all golden here! The Arcade is located on the ground floor and basement floor, mostly selling computer software. On the other hand, the Centre is on the first floor and focuses more on computer hardware. Although you can conveniently find all the parts for your PC in the same building, the two sections are not connected, so make sure you know where you are heading before entering the busy building.

2. Sai Yeung Choi South Street
Whether you’re looking for smaller electronic parts like earphones and chargers, or big items at retailers like Broadway and Fortress, Sai Yeung Choi South Street has them all. At this main spot in Mong Kok for electronic sales, remember to browse thoroughly to seek out the best deal. We also like the fact that this street is very close to MTR exits and features all kinds of shops and restaurants. It’s a great place to chill around with friends after stocking up on products.

3. Apliu Street Flea Market
This bustling open-air street market is a gold mine of cheap and second-hand electronics in Hong Kong. The Apliu Street Flea Market is usually open until 9 or 10pm and is lined with stalls that sell cables, phone accessories, and preloved AV equipment. While you might not be able to source the newest gadgets here, you’ll spot some vintage gems like radios, cameras, and even typewriters. A place where you can flex your bargaining skills, Apliu Street Flea Market is where you’re sure to land some great deals.

Inside the building, you’ll find three floors chock full of laptops, keyboards, softwares, and external hard disks. The staff here are all very knowledgeable about computers and can advise you on the best products based on your needs. Bonus: free wifi is available throughout the centre!

5. Wan Chai Computer Centre
Due to its convenient location, Wan Chai Computer Centre is one of our favourite places to buy external hard disks and software in Hong Kong. You’ll find three floors of all kinds of electronic products such as laptops, camera lenses, tripods, and second-hand Macs. Despite being in the CBD, a lot of the electronics here are very reasonably priced, some even cheaper than the ones in Sham Shui Po. As many tourists often stop by, Wan Chai Computer Centre is easier to manoeuvre for non-Cantonese speakers. Bonus: This is also a Honey-approved spot for cheap yet reliable laptop repairs!

The ground floor is packed with phone stores, where you might get to dust off your bartering skills. If you want to look around more, feel free to head up to the second and third floors, where you’ll find shops that sell shoes, comics, and even sex toys…!

8. 298 Computer Zone
Slightly less “touristy” than the nearby Wan Chai Computer Centre, 298 Computer Zone spans multiple floors and is the place to go for discounted computer parts, hardware, games, and more. Be sure to compare the prices across the centre before making a purchase, as the items tend to get even more affordable as you go further away from the entrance. Either way, the stall owners in 298 tend to be more open to haggling, so barter away! There are a few computer and mobile repair stalls here as well, so you can save some money by forgoing the Apple Store.
