Hong Kong Sevens
Of all the things to do in April, rugby fans should not miss the upcoming Hong Kong Sevens. Named the premier tournament on the World Rugby Sevens Series competition, the event will bring 28 rugby teams from across the globe to Hong Kong Stadium from 6 to 8 April. The competition will be kicked off with a concert featuring English reggae and pop band UB40 on 5 April at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, and outside the stadium, your whole family can still experience the fun atmosphere of the competition at Lee Gardens, Causeway Bay from 24 March to 8 April.

Free Yoga Class at Pier 10
Staying fit doesn’t have to hurt the wallet, especially when there’s a free yoga class held every Sunday at Pier 10 in Central at 8.30-9.30 am. Held by Andiappan Yoga Community for Hong Kong’s overseas worker community, the session is led by Louise Vas and has almost 200 weekly participants. All of the instructors are certified by the International Yoga Academy, and if you’ve always been passionate with yoga, you can even sign up to get trained and become one of their volunteer teachers and assistants.

Little Thunder #ME Book Release Exhibition
Are you a fan of the works of internationally-renowned Hong Kong illustrator Little Thunder? Well if you’re looking for things to do April, don’t miss the book release exhibition of her new comic art book called #ME, which features portraits and stories of 44 unique girls and each of their own little secrets. All drawn in watercolour, the exhibition will run until 11 April at Still House Haven, and we can’t wait!

Mesto at Bungalow
Dance the night away on 12 April at Bungalow, where the uprising Dutch DJ Mesto will be performing for one night only. If you’re stuck on things to do in April, don’t miss the chance to catch the debut show of the 18-year-old DJ and producer, who is known for his releases such as Chances feat. Brielle Von Hugel and Martin Garrix – Bouncybob (feat. Justin Mylo and Mesto), and Martin Garrix – Wieee.

Hong Kong Whisky Festival
Whisky connoisseurs should not miss Hong Kong Whisky Festival, which will return for the third time on 14 April. Held at InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong in collaboration with Tiffany’s New York Bar, the festival will feature over 500 different expressions from more than 120 brands and 20 master classes hosted by diverse brand ambassadors.

The Week Hong Kong
If you’re looking for things to do in April, then you can not miss The Week Hong Kong. Discover and celebrate the best of Hong Kong’s local indie music at The Week Hong Kong. Featuring 20 local acts, the festival is held for seven days at seven different venues with seven unique line-ups which are Hong Kong Showcase Night on 15 April, World Music Night on 16 April, Hip Hop Night with Mastamic as headliner on 17 April, Metal Night on 18 April, Prog Rock Night with Life Was All Silence as headliner on 19 April, Girls Night with GDJYB as headliner on 20 April, and Soul Funk Night on 21 April.

Haku x Kaviari
Haku will present its fourth collaboration dinner of the year with world-renowned caviar house Kaviari. Held on 18 April, the exclusive dinner is priced at HKD 2,500++ per guest, featuring an eight-course degustation menu by Executive Chef Agustin Balbi that includes White Asparagus with Usura Tamago and Kristal Caviar; King Crab with Daikon, Shiso, and Caviar; and Mochida Tomato with Amaou Ichigo and Granita. Sounds like heaven.

Fans of rock music should head to The 50’s Bar & Restaurant on 20 April, where the Hong Kong-based rock band Rockstars Anonymous will perform live. Wonder Women Stand-up Comedy by Neeti Palta and Sumukhi Suresh
Being serious all the time can be pretty tiring, so why not unwind with some funny stories? Get entertained and have a good laugh during top Indian comedians Neeti Palta and Sumukhi Suresh’s stand-up comedy performance on 25 April. Held at Hong Kong Arts Center, the performance is themed Wonder Women as it brings two of the very few successful female comedians in the Indian stand-up comedy scene together. This looks like one of the funniest things to do in April.

Anzac Day at The Races
25 April marks the Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand, and while we may not have Anzac Day in Hong Kong, we can still celebrate the national day by spending the day at the races. Join the other members of Australian Association of Hong Kong in a Private Members Box at Happy Valley Racecourse and enjoy a premium buffet dinner and drinks while you place your bet on the horses and watch them make their way to the finish line.

Metal Yacht Golf Hong Kong

Photography Masterclass with Olivia Arthur and Bieke Depoorter
Want to develop your personal photography projects? Join the two-day Masterclass with Magnum Photos photographers Olivia Arthur and Bieke Depoorter from 28-29 April at University Museum and Art Gallery, where you will get a rare opportunity to refine your photographic practice and sense of authorship. After joining sessions that range from presentations, portfolio critiques, peer-to-peer discussions, and an overnight shooting assignment, you will produce a new work and have it showcased upon the completion of the class.
