There are so many ways to celebrate queerness this month, from watching your favourite LGBTQ+ movies to hitting the gay bars in town, to catching a stellar performance by your local drag queens. Many businesses in Hong Kong are also joining in on celebrating all things Pride and showing support for the queer community. Whether you’re a member or an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, there’s no such thing as being “too extra” in June – simply enjoy these events during Pride Month in Hong Kong and be your most authentic self!
Pride Month in Hong Kong: Celebrate queerness at these LGBTQ+ events in Hong Kong
1. Mondrian Hong Kong

This June, Mondrian Hong Kong wants you to come as you are as it turns into an inclusive space for celebrating one’s true colours. On 22 June, a uniquely proud party will also act as a fundraiser for QUARKS – an organisation supporting transgender youth in Hong Kong. Experience the award-winning Bar Avoca transform into the Doll Factory with a lineup of six international trans and gender non-conforming DJs pumping jams all night. Meanwhile, throughout the entirety of June, Bar Avoca will also be featuring queer DJs and Pride-inspired cocktails every Friday and Saturday night. 2. Duddell’s: Disco Bao: The Pride Edition

Get colourful and glittery for the electrifying Pride Edition of Disco Bao on 15 June at popular local fave, Duddell’s. Witness sensational performances from showgirls Pansze Diva and Tina Ugly Haira before hitting the dance floor led by beats from DJ Rork. For a night of intense queer revelry, make sure to grab free-flow tickets for two hours of wine, Champagne, and spirits to lift you higher throughout the night. The best part? 10% of this event’s proceeds will be donated to AIDS Concern – letting you party for a truly meaningful cause this Pride Month.

3. 1880 Hong Kong: Taikoo Tenant Trivia: Pride Edition

Any trivia junkies out there itching to put their knowledge of all things queer to good use? 1880 Hong Kong is organising the Pride Edition of its Taikoo Tenant Trivia on 13 June at The Double Coffee + Wine. For an extra-prideful experience, this trivia night will be hosted by the fabulous drag queen, Queen Mocha Diva – who’ll also be putting on a special performance! Teams of four to six can purchase tickets that’ll include a welcome drink and some tasty nibbles. Get ready to play!

4. Melody: Pride Brunch

Attention all gays and theys! Melody’s popular weekend brunch is getting the rainbow treatment for Pride Month. Celebrate with the vibrant local LGBTQ+ crowd over apps and bubbly on 29 June while endless loud and proud tunes are spun by Music Director Johnny Hiller. This all-inclusive (and fabulous) brunch ($688) includes two and a half hours of free-flow alongside a delightful array of food that includes Tuna Tartare, Suckling Pig, Roast Yellow Chicken, and Table-side Tiramisu. The best part? Melody will be giving back to the queer community by donating $50 per guest to Rainbow Hong Kong.

5. The Upper House

Throughout Pride Month 2024, get ready for some exciting out and proud events at The Upper House. Come by the Salisterra Bar on 7 June to sip on some colourful tipples from the Pride Month cocktail menu during a community guest shift with Ivan Pun and others. Meanwhile, on 14 June, electrifying drag queen Madame Mincemeat returns to The House for a night of revelry in the Green Room where you’ll also be able to enjoy a free-flow of cocktails, wines, and nibbles! Lastly, for those looking to connect with community through exercise, the Pride edition of #TUHRunningClub on 19 June is perfect for you. With this year’s theme of “Eclipsed Bodies, Embraced Pride”, Eaton HK is inviting the public to embrace queerness and the diverse identities that reject traditional binaries.
