Coconut Matter is all about harnessing nature’s own resources to produce natural bioactive and eco-friendly results. But can it keep up with our active lifestyle?
Whether it’s working out at Goji Studios, yoga studios or rolling around Sandbox VR, it’s easy to work up a sweat in Hong Kong, but how can you keep yourself smelling fresh? Well, we test eco-friendly Coconut Matter and their range of vegan prebiotic deodorants to see if they can handle the heat.
“I love the Hong Kong humidity!” said nobody ever. We tested organic and vegan-friendly Coconut Matter and their range of deodorants that tick all the boxes for the eco-friendly consumer; toxin free, biodegradable and 100% plastic free. Choose from a collection of five varying distinctive smells and remember, no one has ever wowed clients, scored a second date or got the job by smelling terrible. But do they work?
Coconut Matter deodorant review
#1 Un-airconditioned Room
Test number one takes us to the office. On a usual sweltering day in Hong Kong, we were curious to see if the 5 Spring would prevent sweat – temperatures hit an awkward uncomfortable high twenties, but we stayed dry with a slight scent of citrus.
One day the air conditioner might malfunction and you’re stuck to fend for yourself against the noses of your colleagues. Coconut Matter 5 Spring deodorant is tried and tested!
#2 Wan Chai Walk
We’ve all been there, it’s 4:30 pm and you’re speedily walking to an event. It’s 30 plus degrees and your shirt is beginning to bare the wounds of your decision not to grab a taxi. A difficult task for any deodorant, let alone a roll-on antiperspirant. On this day, I had used Coconut Matter 2 Zen and found that it did a decent job in combating sweat with hints of lemon still coming through.
We were asked why not No. 3 or No. 4 today? Our Prebiotic Deodorants flew off the shelf at Natural & Organic Products Asia tradeshow – thanks for your support 👊 No, we did not avoid no. 4 because it sounds like "death" in local Cantonese dialect. Can you guess why? . . . #deodorant #ecobeauty #indiebeauty #indiebrand #crueltyfree #plasticfree #hkig #hkiger #hkvegan #zerowaste #greenbeauty #veganbeauty #wellness #naturalskincare #cleanbeauty #naturaldeodorant #biodegradable #smellsgood #minimalist #mindfulconsumerism #vegan
#3 Evening Workout
We’re getting extreme now. Two hours at a rugby training session in the evening. Hard work but unfortunately a step too far. The running, rolling and more running paired with the humidity produced an overpowering level of moisture. However, any other workout that’s a bit less intense should have no problems.
#4 Meeting Refresh
Need a quick refresh before the afternoon meeting? Coconut Matter offers a subtle aroma rather than an overpowering deodorant spray. Ideal for topping yourself up before seeing others.
Would we wear again?
Most definitely. I think Coconut Matter has done a great job in creating a range of great smelling eco-friendly prebiotic deodorants. They do a good job in telling us simply what natural products they’re using and how they benefit us. Clearly coconut matters.
