In a glamorous city like Hong Kong, we can easily get carried away with our lavish Christmas menus and holiday events. At the end of the year, we often take time to look inward and set New Year’s resolutions. But it is also important to look outward at how our actions can benefit others. Take a wee bit of break from chasing happy hours and contribute to these Christmas charity campaigns in Hong Kong.

1. Boy n Burger supports Changing Young Lives Foundation

The fast-casual burger concept is launching five new burgers to support Changing Young Lives Foundation (CYLF) this December. Boy n Burger will donate HK$1.5 of all sales from its new burgers to the foundation and sponsor a festive feast for 50 CYLF mentees. The five new burgers include: Texas BBQ Chicken Burger, The Mexica, Seoul Burger, Bacon Double Cheese Burger, and Big Bobby. CYLF provides underprivileged children and marginalised young adults with resources to help develop their talents, and unleash their full potential through various training sessions.

2. Zubin Christmas Crackers for Social Good

The Zubin Foundation is launching sustainable and locally-made Christmas crackers. All proceeds will support the local charity’s work with Hong Kong’s marginalised ethnic minorities in mental health, support for women and girls, and providing jobs and opportunities. Inside the cracker, you will find a crown, a joke and a sustainable, novelty gift item. The crackers can be purchased from Bookazine, Indigo Living, or directly from their website.

3. Lee Gardens x First Initiative Foundation (FIF) Present Furrytales
From 28 November 2021 to 9 January 2022 head to Lee Garden One and Two for Furrytales, a unique charitable initiative that raises awareness for the welfare of our furry friends. Bring your pawtner along to enjoy the installations and interactive events. The Magical Garden features a six metres tall Christmas tree, enjoy a movie under the night sky at the rooftop spa, and more. The event will feature different pet charities whom you can contribute to and learn more about. You can catch the charities at the weekend market that’ll be held at Lee Garden One.
4. Pret A Manger’s Good Food, Doing Good

In addition to donating all surplus unsold food to the elderly and homeless every night, Pret A Manger will donate $1 to Feeding Hong Kong from every ‘Jolly Generous Christmas’ festive specialty sold. The international outlet is introducing a number of ‘Jolly Generous Christmas’ festive bites this season including Cinnamon Chocolate Rice Pudding Bowl, Brie & Cranberry Sandwich, and takeaway platters for four to six guests.

5. EcoDrive Launches #GiftBetter2021 Campaign
Beginning on 18 November, EcoDriveHK will be sharing plastic-light and eco-friendly gift suggestions on its social media channels every other day to help Hong Kongers make better, more sustainable lifestyle choices. EcoDrive has partnered with local restaurants, brands, and hotels to join forces in the #GiftBetter 2021 campaign.
In addition, EcoDrive is also partnering with Charitable Choice, a local non-profit charity where donations go directly to those in need. The organisation helps set up fundraising campaigns and send charity gift cards to a wide list of Hong Kong’s greenest charities.
6. Be Feeding Hong Kong’s Santa Claus!

No, you don’t have to wear a red coat or a white beard for this! Feeding Hong Kong is partnering with Jou Sun – an online groceries marketplace – to feed the needy in the city. From 1-14 December, purchase charity gift baskets from Jou Sun and the proceeds will go towards buying food for people in need.

7. Cookie Smiles x JOYCE Gingerbread For Good Pop-Up
Find your perfect man (well in gingerbread form) this Christmas! From 6-23 December, head to the JOYCE boutique in New World Tower for a yummy treat from 12 celebrity chefs in Hong Kong. Each chef will present his or her own rendition of the classic festive treat – expect chefs from W Hotel Hong Kong, the Mandarin Oriental, Salisterra, and more – it’s going to be a heartwarming party for a good cause! Proceeds will go to ImpactHK, The Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, Splash Foundation, and Shine Skills Centre.
