Feeling burnt out? Seek support from mental health apps in Hong Kong, which can help with meditation, mindfulness, and more.
If you’ve ever had the urge to go on a “social media cleanse” (or have done one before) due to its negative impact on your mental health and body image, you’d probably think smartphones and self-care are almost antithetical existences. But, there are actually a wide variety of mental health apps in Hong Kong that have been specially designed for purposes like stress management, meditation, mood tracking, and connecting users to counselling services. And because entrepreneurs are famous for being incredible multitaskers (honestly, how do they do it?), we’ve asked some of these busy bees to share with us their go-to mental health apps for effective stress reduction.
Entrepreneurs reveal the best mental health apps in Hong Kong that help clear the mind
1. Anshika Tandon, Managing Director of Infinite Narratives
Where there are a lot of mental health apps out there, the ones that immediately come to mind are Slowdive and Alo Moves. I’m currently using the former for meditation and the latter for grounding exercises, like yoga and pilates, so that I can tackle stress both at the mental and physical level. I’ve used other apps at different points in my well-being journey, too, such as Calm for meditation and Fabulous for habit building.
2. Linda Morrison, Founder and Creative Director of MiliMilu
When I’m feeling overwhelmed and in need of a break – but I’m short on time – Headspace comes in handy. As a beginner to the meditation process, I find using this mental health app helps me to clear my mind in a relatively short amount of time.
In addition, I like to stay active by using exercise apps like Strava to track my workouts, hiking, and running. I personally find that getting my body moving and breaking a sweat is the most effective way to combat stress. I also find solace in the outdoors, whether it’s a peaceful walk through the woods or a relaxing day at the beach. During these moments, I often listen to my favourite music or catch up on the latest podcasts using Spotify. There’s something about being in nature and feeling the wind on my face that helps me to feel centred and focused.
3. Nassim Secci, Founder of The Happy Space Company
Todoist isn’t just a productivity tool – it’s a mental health lifesaver! Its intuitive interface allows me to offload the mental clutter, organising tasks by category and priority. The simple act of transferring tasks from mind to list is incredibly therapeutic, helping me stay focused, get things done, and reclaim peace of mind.
4. Christine Deschemin, CEO and Founder of Renewed Edge
I created and designed EverCalm Menopause specifically to support women through the menopause transition, offering self-management strategies tailored to the unique needs of women during this phase of their lives. This app stands out as a holistic solution that helps alleviate common menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, night sweats, and anxiety, all while promoting improved sleep quality. By providing evidence-based resources and fostering a community of support, EverCalm Menopause aims to reduce stress and enhance the well-being of women navigating menopause, empowering them through innovation and understanding.
