Shaken, stirred, blended or muddled - Bali’s best cocktails will knock any cocktail connoisseurs off their feet!
It’s no secret that I love cocktails. And Bali has no shortage of award-winning bars where mixology is both an artform and science. The ones where everything is measured to the millimetre, with handcut ice cubes, top-shelf spirits, and carefully chosen glassed to drink from. So, after countless nights bar-hopping across the island, I’ve shortlisted the very best cocktails in Bali. Bottoms up, Honeys!
Bali’s best bars at a glance:
- Best for classic cocktails: Jati Bar, Pinstripe Bar, The Howff, Revolver.
- Best for local flavours: Waatu, TELU, Mama San, Bartolo.
- Best for fresh tropical drinks: L’Atelier by Cyril Kongo, Lacalita.
- Best for sunset drinks: Sundara Beach Club, Desa Potato Head, The St. Regis Bali Resort.
My absolute pick? The Kelapa Negroni at Sundara Beach Club – I’m a bit of a negroni snob and usually stick to the classic, but I love this twist!

The Best Cocktails In Bali: Signature Drinks
1. Down To Earth at TELU – Jimbaran
Sip sustainably with zero-waste cocktails crafted to support Bali’s local eco-charities.

Inventive, sustainable and oh-so delicious – TELU is the first-of-its-kind zero waste bar in Bali that’s housed within the breathtaking Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay. It features a series of four sustainably minded cocktails that support four local charities, each one using either homegrown ingredients or produce sourced from within Indonesia.
The standout is Down To Earth, made with Bali’s East Indies Gin, bitter matcha, and fresh tropical fruits. It’s carefully crafted to support Sungai Watch, an eco-charity which helps with keeping our water-ways clean – so you can feel good about each sip.

Where: Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay.

2. Sekar Madya at Waatu – Uluwatu
Earthy mixology with a thoughtful twist, led by Waatu’s signature Indonesian flavour-driven cocktail.

Waatu’s open-fire kitchen already sets the mood, but the cocktails here deserve their own spotlight, especially the ones crafted by Eka, Waatu’s head mixologist. One of his signature drink, Sekar Madya, is a thoughtful mix that’s rooted (literally) in the earth. He slow-presses beetroot with celery and ginger to build a fresh, earthy base, then mixes it with tequila and a touch of agave syrup for balance.
He describes the drink as a symbol of balance between earth and humanity, but honestly? It just tastes so good. The beetroot gives it depth, the celery and ginger keep it bright, and the tequila–agave combo ties it all together.
Price: Cocktails from IDR 170,000++
Best for: Bold drinkers who crave fresh, vibrant flavors.
Where: Waatu
Address: Jl. Pantai Selatan Gau, Ungasan.
Opening hours: Daily from 11am
3. Limo Jungle at Dome at Desa Potato Head – Seminyak
Tropical mixology meets island innovation with rum-forward, Bali-inspired flavours.

When it comes to finding the best cocktail on the menu, where do you even start at this cocktail and beach club mecca? Well, we usually begin with Potato Head’s most popular numbers, like the bright and herbaceous Kookaburra with its passionfruit foam, and the super beautiful Bina Colada that just screams paradise island.
Our latest go-to? It has to be the tropical Limo Jungle at Potato Head’s newest restaurant, Dome. Limo Jungle features Indonesia’s own Nusa Caña rum, and Bali-born Limo Aperitivo.
Price: IDR 165,000++
Best for: Tropical cocktail lovers who want a Bali-inspired rum experience.
Where: Dome Restaurant at Desa Potato Head.
Address: Jl Petitenget No. 51B, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 6pm – 11pm.
4. Botanical Garden at Mama San – Seminyak
Elegant, floral cocktail artistry in one of Bali’s most iconic dining destinations.

One of our absolute fave bars to prop up in Bali (not to mention the restaurant, which has always been our go-to for dinner) Mama San has become a household name here in Bali – one of the first island icons to introduce epic Asian food and top-notch cocktails to our feasting rituals. We regularly sip on Mama San‘s famous Negronis, as well as their Thyme To Spritz that uses pear and sparkling wine.
But if there’s one reason why we’re obsessed with this gourmet name, it’s the beautiful and elegant Botanical Garden. It blends fruity sweetness and floral sophistication in one glass. You’ve just got to try it.
Price: IDR 160,000++
Best for: Elegant drinkers who appreciate refined ambiance.
Where: Mama San.
Address: Jl Raya Kerobokan No. 135, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, 12pm – 2.30pm & 5.30pm – 10.30pm.
5. The Lossie Haze at The Howff – Nusa Lembongan
Speakeasy vibes meet smoky Scotch whisky perfection.

As if we need more reason to hop over to Nusa Lembongan, The Howff is a secret whiskey & gin bar with views to die for, tucked away under The Deck and overlooking turquoise ocean and the majestic Mount Agung. It also happens to serve some of our very fave tipples.
We can’t get enough of The Lossie Haze, made with Glen Moray Speyside whiskey to add smoothness to this hazy, smokey and wood-infused cocktail. A homemade orange peel syrup and Angostura bitters add a zesty twist to this liquid ode to Scotland.
Price: IDR 185,000++
Best for: Scotch fans seeking a smoky, sunset-sipping speakeasy moment.
Where: Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa.
Address: Jungut Batu, Nusa Lembongan.
Opening hours: Daily, from 5pm.
6. The Composer at Pinstripe Bar – Ubud
A sophisticated, sensory cocktail experience inspired by Bali’s cultural pioneers.

For an extra special tipple, head to the opulent and Colonial-style Pinstripe Bar at Viceroy Bali. Here at this fine dining showpiece, you can prop up the mahogany bar and sip on upmarket cocktails inspired by the 1930s. Each one has been specially created to honour the wave of historical travellers to Bali who instantly fell in love with the magical island.
The Composer for example, is inspired by Colin McPhee, the first Western composer to make an ethnomusicological study of Bali. The cocktail itself is a harmonious multi-sensory experience, made from caramelised pandan whisky, Mezcal Joven and Fernet Branca, smoked with recycled coffee incense for extra mystical vibes…
Price: IDR 230,000++
Best for: Curious travellers who love their cocktails with a story.
Where: Viceroy Bali.
Address: Br. Nagi, Jl Lanyahan, Petulu, Ubud.
Opening hours: Daily, 4pm – 11.30pm.
7. Black Lime Margarita at Bartolo – Uluwatu
Heritage cocktails with a contemporary twist.

I’ve had a lot of margaritas in Bali, but this is the one I keep coming back to. Served in a taller glass brimming with ice, the Black Lime Margarita at Bartolo swaps out the usual salt rim for a dusting of punchy black lime powder. Inside, tequila meets smoked honey, sage, and citrus, creating a perfect balance of smoke and tartness.
Bartolo serves heritage cocktails with a contemporary twist, and this drink nails that brief. It’s fresh with a savoury edge, and seriously easy to sip. If you’re a fan of margaritas but want something that feels more grown-up and chef-driven, this is the one to order.
Price: IDR 150,000++
Best for: Margarita fans who want something smoky and utterly original.
Where: Bartolo
Address: Jl. Melasti Labuansait, Uluwatu.
Opening hours: Daily, from 5pm.
8. Balinese Treasure at L’Atelier by Cyril Kongo – Nusa Dua
Art, cigars and skyline views meet high-end mixology with a tropical twist.

Located high up at the top of The Apurva Kempinski Bali, the world-renowned graffiti artist Cyril Kongo invites you to his exclusive art studio where he combines his love of street art, cigars, high-end spirits and music, all in one lounge.
L’Atelier by Cyril Kongo’s outdoor terrace is the perfect space to treat yourself to Cuban cigars and ultra-unique cocktails. We love the tropical Balinese Treasure, made from gin and papaya-infused vermouth bianco topped with strawberry water and a citrus squeeze. And for the second round, you’ll definitely want to try the delish Apurva Old Fashioned with jasmine rice- and pandan-infused bourbon, too!
Price: IDR 200,000++
Best for: Art lovers and sky-high sippers wanting a luxe tropical twist.
Where: The Apurva Kempinski Bali.
Address: Jl Raya Nusa Dua Selatan, Nusa Dua.
Opening hours: Daily, from 5pm.

9. The Bloody Mary at The St. Regis Bali Resort – Nusa Dua
Iconic brunch cocktails reimagined with bold Southeast Asian spice and style.

Did you know that in 1934, bartender Fernand Petiot arrived at The St. Regis New York with a recipe for a unique vodka and tomato juice cocktail that he perfected at the King Cole Bar? Now a staple tipple, the Bloody Mary remains the signature cocktail of The St. Regis brand today. And The St. Regis Bali Resort proudly presents three renditions of this legendary classic.
While you can’t go wrong with the New York OG, you’d want to spice it up with Chilli Padi Mary inspired by the brand’s Singapore address. This iconic cocktail uses flavours of Southeast Asia, like lemongrass, ginger and chilli. It packs a punch to kickstart your day alongside The St. Regis’ famous Sunday brunches.
Price: IDR 265,000++
Best for: Brunch lovers who like their tomato juice with a spicy kick.
Where: The St. Regis Bali Resort.
Address: Kawasan Pariwisata, Lot S6, Nusa Dua.
Opening hours: Daily, from 3pm.
10. Kelapa Negroni at Sundara Beach Club – Jimbaran
A coconut-infused twist on a classic Negroni, best enjoyed at sunset.

Jimbaran’s beachfront, infinity-pooled stunner is without doubt one of Bali’s best sunset bars, and with such a serious rep must come serious cocktails. At Sundara Beach Club, their house-infused Arak cocktails are all sure-fire winners, but our forever-fave has to be the signature Kelapa Negroni – a tropical take on the classic cocktail made with coconut fat washed gin, house bitter, sweet vermouth and Wilson. The perfect accompaniment to a shimmering sunset.
Price: IDR 240,000++
Best for: Negroni fans who want a coconut-kissed classic by the sea.
Where: Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay.
Address: Jl Bukit Permai, Jimbaran.
Opening hours: Daily, from 11am.
11. Lacalaca Margarita at Lacalita – Canggu & Seminyak
Spicy jalapeño margaritas meet Mexican fiesta vibes and taco Tuesdays.

With Mexican joints popping up all over the island, the humble Margarita has been reinvented on countless occasions. But forget novel ingredients like lavender and salted caramel. All we need is a bit of Jalepeño-infused spice added to the classic margarita to send us into fits of tequila-induced hysteria.
You can find the best spicy margarita in Bali at Lacalita Bar y Cocina in Canggu and Seminyak – namely Lacalaca. Top tip: swing by on a Tuesday for the weekly 25k tacos to pair your margis with.
Price: IDR 150,000++
Best for: Margarita lovers who like it spicy.
Where: Lacalita Bar y Cocina.
Address: Jl Batu Bolong No. 68, Canggu & Jl Drupadi No. 1, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, from 12pm in Canggu & 11am in Seminyak.
12. Gin Martini at Jati Bar – Ubud
Earthy, terracotta-aged martinis crafted amid Ubud’s lush riverside jungle.

Served up in the lush jungles of Ubud, Jati Bar at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan slings the classics using locally-sourced coconut, bamboo and teak wood to barrel-age their cocktails for 30 days or longer, while local artisan terracotta casks produce smooth, cohesive and complex flavours.
We love the Gin Martini – the first terracotta-aged Martini in Bali that undergoes a 42-day ageing process to give it an earthy twist. Or the Hanky Panky that revives a now-forgotten tradition of glass-ageing in Bali, made with gin, Fernet Branca and sweet vermouth. It’s a full-flavoured cocktail with a sweet edge, counterbalanced by a slightly bitter aftertaste (definitely not your average martini, and that’s exactly the point!).
Price: IDR 230,000++
Best for: Martini purists who appreciate earthy, terracotta-aged craft.
Where: Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan.
Address: Jl Raya Sayan, Sayan, Ubud.
Opening hours: Daily, from 12pm.
13. Revolver Espresso Martini at Revolver – Canggu & Seminyak
Coffee meets cocktail culture with Bali’s most iconic espresso martini.

What happens when you take the island’s favourite Revolver cold-drip coffee, throw in a kick of alcohol (vodka and coffee liqueur), and shake it up with a dash of caramel behind the bar of the coolest espresso shop in town? An espresso martini like no other, that’s what!
The Revolver Espresso Martini is as legendary as its coffee, best enjoyed at one of ‘Revs’ night parties in Canggu, or with a table full of grazing plates like burrata, calamari, burgers and a chicken Caesar – yes, they serve epic food too!
Price: IDR 90,000++
Best for: Night owls who run on cold drip and cocktails.

FAQs On Drinking Cocktails In Bali
Is it safe to drink cocktails in Bali?
Generally yes, drinking cocktails in Bali is safe when done at reputable bars, beach clubs, and resorts. However, caution is advised because of counterfeit or illegally-distilled spirits (such as unregulated Indonesian moonshine called arak) which have posed health risks.
Key tips: Stick to established venues, ask about ingredients, avoid street-stalls serving unbelievably cheap cocktails, and monitor how you feel after drinking.
What is the legal drinking age for cocktails in Bali?
The legal minimum age to buy or consume alcohol - including cocktails - in Bali and the rest of Indonesia is 21 years old, applying to both locals and tourists.
Are cocktail bars in Bali reliable in terms of hygiene and drink quality?
Yes, many bars and clubs in Bali pride themselves on quality and safety, but you should still evaluate each venue. Factors like visible cleanliness, known brand spirits, and busy venues indicate better reliability.
What local spirits or mixes should I be cautious about when drinking cocktails in Bali?
One local spirit to approach with caution is arak, a traditional Balinese distilled liquor. That being said, it can be authentic and safe, provided that you drink arak-based cocktails at well-known bars. Ask for branded bottles, and avoid “free flow” cheap deals that might hide unsafe ingredients.
How much are cocktails in Bali?
Standard cocktails in reputable bars range between IDR 120,000 to IDR 250,000 depending on venue, location, and ingredients.
