Impressively placed within Canggu's art de vivre lifestyle village, Ina Ré at Desa Kitsuné is the newest restaurant in Bali with Mediterranean-Latin flair.
Let’s be real – Canggu is no stranger to epic food. This coastal town on Bali’s southwestern coast is packed with cool cafes, artisan eateries, and some of the best restaurants in Bali. But when it comes to fresh, innovative dining experiences, Ina Ré is on a whole other level. Impressively placed within Desa Kitsuné – Canggu’s up-and-coming art de vivre village – Ina Ré mixes Mediterranean sophistication with the flavours of Latin street food.
If you haven’t seen it already (where have you been?!), Desa Kitsuné is making waves in Bali, home to the Parisian-chic Café Kitsuné and Maison Kitsuné. But with the addition of Ina Ré, Desa Kitsuné has fast become a boundary-pushing lifestyle destination, paying homage to slow island living and island-grown produce.
A collaboration between Maison Kitsuné and Savaya Group, Ina Ré is arguably the most progressive new restaurant in Canggu. The contemporary menu blends Mediterranean cuisine with Latin flair and local ingredients, best shared with a round of creative drinks and an ambiance that’s all about good times. Here’s why Ina Ré should be on your Bali hit-list.
Mediterranean flavours meet Latin flair at Ina Ré
The menu at Ina Ré takes inspiration from Latin street food and Mediterranean flavours. Think raw starters, wood-fired meats and large plates designed to share with a succession of vibrant sides. We love swinging by for lunch – the wood-washed, avant-garde interiors set the scene to graze on fresh oysters, zesty ceviche (featuring the catch-of-the-day), and fire-grilled tiger prawns with apple, lemon and parsley.
Then as day turns to night, Ina Ré transforms into a stylish and sexy dinner destination, buzzing with lively vibes and groups of friends swapping and sharing signature must-tries. The Milanese-style crispy eggplant gets our vote, together with the grilled calamari, the braised pork belly with apple mash, and the barbecued octopus cooked to tender perfection.
But the best way to get a taste of it all is with the Ina Ré specialty set menu, which is designed to share amongst two or six diners. You can choose from a whopping 100-gram Tomahawk, a whole bamboo lobster spaghetti, or the catch-of-the-day in a tomato soffritto. But the star of the specialty menu is the Ina Ré Seafood Paella. One of the very best we’ve ever tasted in Bali, it’s a bounty of octopus, clams, prawns and red snapper. You can even add Papuan bamboo lobster to make it the poshest paella in town…
Ina Ré also knows its drinks
With its global repertoire and team of hospitality elites, it’s no surprise that Ina Ré knows how to sling a great cocktail. Their drinks menu is just as impressive as the food, with cocktails following the menu’s lead by incorporating local ingredients and Mediterranean finesse. Try the ‘very demure’ Sangria Ina Ré – a Vino Tinto flavoured with all-spice, orange and pineapple. Or the Andean Sour, which is a citrusy take on the classic Pisco Sour. And with a menu of fine wines from around the world, you can never go wrong with a Chilean Sauvignon or an Argentinian Malbec to complement your surf-and-turf feast. There’s no better way to kick off an evening in Canggu, topped off with great company and seriously good vibes.
The perfect mix of chill and chic
If there’s one thing Ina Ré nails (besides the food!), it’s the ambiance. This sleek Canggu restaurant is a 660-square-metre masterpiece, large enough to fit 110 VIP guests. And yet, everything here is designed in a way that still feels cosy and intimate. With its minimalist aesthetic, natural materials, and soft lighting, Ina Ré is laid-back luxury at its best – the perfect mix of chill and chic.
Time your visit on a Tuesday or Friday and you’ll catch a lively dinner experience that seamlessly flows into one of Desa Kitsuné’s famous garden parties, complete with international DJs spinning late into the night. It’s a dinner-and-dance combo that keeps the energy high, making sure your night doesn’t end after dessert. For a more low-key vibe, every Thursday and Saturday night, join in on the Intimate Dinner Series hosted by Desa Kitsuné’s finest, perfect for a romantic dinner date or a sophisticated night out. Come back again on a Sunday, because Ina Ré is now hosting boozy brunches too.
