Merasa Origins is a return that traces the ancestral wisdom of Asia’s diverse regions. A tracing back of the everyday wisdom woven through this island and beyond; the teachings and practices that have guided generations – honoured and lived in the present.
How does a healer know which plants to gather to ease an ailment? Which asana postures support specific organs within the body? What breathing techniques help us to be in the present moment?
Merasa Origins invites you to explore these questions and more at their source, guided by practitioners from India, Java, and Bali.
Four days. Three nights. Three immersions in one year.
We will gather a close-knit group with every Merasa Origins to immerse in the guidance of our knowledge keepers. Expect a programme that is thoughtful, intimate, and experienced entirely in the comfort of staying at Desa Potato Head Bali.

In India, we begin with balance.
Guided by Reema Datta, this immersion draws from Vedic philosophy and the lineage of practices passed down through her grandparents – honouring both solar and lunar forces as complementary energies within and around us.
Each day unfolds through daily yoga, pranayama, meditation, and an opening ceremonial dance circle designed to awaken subtle energies within the body. Ayurveda knowledge sessions offer context and grounding, while rituals rooted in family lineage create moments of quiet transmission.
India carries a softness. It invites you to slow down, to feel more than analyse. Over four days, participants are guided to harmonise movement and stillness, action and surrender, sun and moon; remembering that both live within us.
