Forget London and Paris. In-the-know foodies are making a stop in Canggu to try the best restaurants in Bali.
Wow, where do I even start? It’s no secret that Canggu is essentially the epicentre of Bali’s dining scene. It’s where you’ll find some of Bali’s very best restaurants, neighbourhood favourites and chef-led tasting menus. It’s also where you’ll find the highest concentration of hot new tables, since there are more new restaurants opening here than anywhere else in Bali.
So, whether you’re planning a special dinner, a casual night out, or just want to know where’s actually good to eat in Canggu right now, these are the best restaurants in Canggu for 2026 you need to have on your radar.
Why trust this guide
I lived in Canggu for over 6 years, and in that time, I’ve eaten my way across the neighbourhood, revisiting long-standing favourites, testing the newest openings, and separating the hype from the standouts. All to bring you this tried-and-tested edit of the best restaurants in Canggu for 2026.
The Best Restaurants in Canggu: My Top Picks
1. Meimei
As soon as we heard Meimei was from the same team as Yuki, we couldn’t wait to book a seat (you’ll need to reserve in advance – it’s already popular for good reason). Needless to say, it’s cemented itself as one of Canggu’s standouts – so much so, it even took Gold in Bali’s Best Awards 2025.
The focus is Southeast Asian barbecue, with share plates like Papuan crab opor on toast, satay skewers, and bold curries. If you want to go all out, the 800g dry-aged ribs are the showstopper.
The cocktails hold their own too. The Yuzu Pandan was our pick (I love how it uses local flavours), while the Watermelon Chili comes with a proper kick. With the bar open until 2am, Meimei is also one of the few Canggu spots where you can count on late-night food and drinks that don’t compromise on quality.
Good to know: From the same team who brought us YUKI, expect the best food and drinks at Meimei.
Local tip: You’ll need to book in advance, since Meimei is already climbing up the ranks of Bali’s best restaurants.
Address: Jl Pantai Batu Bolong No. 87, Canggu.
2. Mosto
Indonesia’s first natural wine bar with European neo-bistro plates and 70+ low-intervention wines.

If you love natural wines as much as I do, then let me point you to Mosto in Berawa. It’s Indonesia’s first natural wine bar, with one of best wine lists in Canggu (and maybe even Bali!). Mosto’s sommelier is Nicolas Lento, and he’s hand-selected more than 70 low-intervention labels from small producers around the world.
The highly-trained team go above and beyond to find your perfect pour. If you’ve been in Bali long enough, you’ll know it’s not easy to find this level of wine knowledge here. Beverage Director Denny Bakiev also raises the bar with his experimental, zero-waste cocktails that are worth crossing the Canggu shortcut for. The Yuzu Gimlet is simply sensational.
All of this, and that’s before I even mention the food. The menu is the clever work of Chef Lorenzo De Petris, and it’s driven by local, bistro-inspired small plates designed to share over good conversation and a great bottle of wine. My go-tos include the crostini with shoyu burnt butter, the koji-marinated chicken schnitzel, and the tagliolini in a sambal arrabbiata. Whatever you choose, you’ll be whisked away to a European neo-bistro.
Must-try: Tagliolini Arrabbiata, Koji-Marinated Chicken Schnitzel, Sticky Toffee Pudding.

3. Lulu Bistrot
Parisian-inspired dining with French wines, live jazz and share-style brasserie classics.

For an evening in Paris complete with live jazz and fine French wines, head to Lulu Bistrot on Batu Bolong. The sun-soaked terrace is perfect for an early apéritif, before tasting French-inspired cuisine par excellence in the most sophisticated dining room I’ve been to in Canggu.
Because everything on the menu is best shared, I ordered a selection to try them all. You really can’t go wrong with any of the dishes, since the top-notch produce and recipes all honour fine French cooking. Think roasted oysters in roquefort butter, country-style terrine, and lamb bourguignon. And of course, what’s an evening in Paris without a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon?
Must-try: Oyster Au Naturel, Terrine De Campagne, Lamb Bourguignon

4. The Avocado Factory
Bali’s avocado-obsessed restaurant serving creative dishes, hearty mains and avo-loaded comfort food.

Yes, The Avocado Factory is most famous for its daytime brunches – but stick around and you’ll find a surprisingly solid dinner menu that goes far beyond smashed avo. This Bali-born concept is dedicated to showcasing local avocados from Bali and Java across creative savoury dishes, hearty mains and indulgent comfort plates.
Come evening, the menu is bold and satisfying. Think avocado tuna tartare, avo birria tacos with beef and spiced consommé, and the rich scrambled and braised chilli oxtail served on a muffin with red spinach. If you’re extra hungry, there’s the avo steak & eggs with striploin and chimichurri, or the double cheese avo burger stacked with guacamole and spicy potato chips. Even the pastas (like pistachio pesto spaghetti and tagliatelle with zucchini) get the signature avocado twist.
Must-try:Avocado Tuna Tartare, Scrambled & Braised Chilli Oxtail, Avo Steak & Eggs

5. Sababa
Middle Eastern mezze and Levantine grills perfect for sharing.

This one is a lesser known gem that I love. Sababa is an awesome little eatery in Berawa that serves Middle Eastern cuisine, perfect for sharing. In fact, I often order a selection on the menu and share the lot. It’s warm and cosy with East Mediterranean interiors, scented by the region’s famous spices sizzling in the kitchen. Think classic kefta, falafels and shakshuka, or my fave, the grilled calamari on creamy babaganoush. You won’t want to miss the Levantine grilled meats either. Each dish is served family-style (or on grazing mezze plates), making it great for groups of friends. I love the list of yummy desserts and cocktails too, all given a Middle Eastern twist.

6. Sazón
Spanish tapas with Michelin flair, bold Iberian flavours and dry-aged steaks in Batu Bolong.
When word got out that Michelin-starred Chef Andrew Walsh was setting up shop in Canggu, I dropped everything and made a beeline to Batu Bolong. Teaming up with Head Chef Javier Vicente, the duo have dished up Sazón – a seriously suave Spanish-style tapas restaurant that blends bold Iberian flavours with Bali’s bountiful local produce. Think sultry lighting, an open kitchen, and a sleek bar that practically begs you to start with a Sangria Roja (which I did, obviously).
From there, it was an all-out tapas feast. Plump and juicy scallops, a knockout squid ink ‘Arroz Negro’ paella with just-caught seafood, and the pièce de résistance: a 28-day dry-aged Txuleta steak, grilled and smoked to perfection. I inhaled plates of Patatas Bravas Rausell, and wrapped things up with sublime desserts and a round of cocktails. Safe to say, I’m already plotting my return…
Must-try: Japanese Scallop Ajoblanco, Squid Ink ‘Arroz Negro’ Paella, Beef 28 Days Dry-Aged ‘Txuleta’, Patatas Bravas Rausell

7. Numero Quattro
Contemporary Italian dining with handmade pasta and lounge vibes.

The second I stepped inside Numero Quattro, I felt like I wasn’t even in Bali. This Italian and European-inspired restaurant in Echo Beach is from the same masterminds behind a handful of Bali’s very best restaurants (The Lawn, Times Beach Warung and Skool Kitchen, to name a few).
So with a rad DJ spinning loungey tunes in the background, I tucked into insanely good pasta, fresh oysters and some grilled specialties. I can confirm that their truffle fettuccine is as indulgent as it sounds, as are the creamy pumpkin risotto and the Wagyu tartare. Word on the street is Chef Joel Bennetts’ oxtail lasagne is also a must-try. As for dessert? I went with the vanilla bean semi-fredo with limoncello granita, which paired perfectly with Numero Quattro’s cocktail.
Must-try: Truffle Alfredo Fettuccine, Oxtail Lasagne, Wagyu Tartare
How much: Mains start from IDR 135,000++

8. Shelter Pererenan
Mediterranean-Middle Eastern fusion in a romantic garden setting.

Hidden amongst lush tropical plants, Shelter Pererenan is as gorgeous as it is delicious. This Mediterranean and Middle Eastern inspired restaurant is easily one of the best in Canggu. It’s super romantic with candlelit tables, but also buzzing and social, with long communal tables beneath its joglo-style structure, and some low-slung sofas in the garden.
I always start with the hummus and smoky babaganoush, which I mop up with the warm, house-baked flatbread. The torched scallops, BBQ octopus and grilled lamb kofta come next — all perfectly spiced and impossibly tender. Each dish is best shared, so my table is always filled with a few starters and mains, and a round of cocktails. And trust me, you cannot leave without trying the ‘wood-roasted chocolate’ dessert – I’ve even tripped to Canggu to order this alone!
Must-try: Smoked Baba, Lamb Kofte, Wood-Roasted Salmon

9. Skool Kitchen
Charcoal-kissed dishes, fiery cocktails and sunset views above one of Canggu’s most iconic beach clubs.

Backed by some of Bali’s biggest foodie names, and sitting above The Lawn (AKA Canggu’s hottest beachfront destination), Skool Kitchen is where fire meets finesse. Every dish is kissed by charcoal flames, bringing a primal edge to modern dining. The smoked octopus escabeche with pickled cucumber is a must-try, as is the glazed Wagyu short rib with harissa. Even the cocktails get a fiery twist – my top pick is the Burnt Lemon Daiquiri. I chose to sit at the chef’s counter to watch the action in the open kitchen, but you really can’t go wrong with any of the tables on the deck. You’ll score a front-row seat to a blazing Bali sunset, perched above the waves…
Must-try: Fireplace Pumpkin, Smoked Octopus Escabeche, Glazed Wagyu Short Ribs

10. Luma
Mediterranean fine dining with Southern European traditions and Indonesian ingredients.

A Mediterranean showstopper, Luma is the work of two award-winning chefs: Cameron Emirali of 10 Greek Street in London, and Kieran Morland of Sangsaka in Seminyak. Arguably one of Bali’s most aesthetically breathtaking restaurants, the ever-changing menu is just as impressive. It combines elements of Southern Europe’s cooking traditions with Indonesia’s indigenous ingredients.
The jewel in the crown is the charcoal grill and custom-made wood-fire oven, taking centre stage in the dazzling Luma kitchen. Unsurprisingly so, the carefully curated wine list is second-to-none, while the cocktail list follows the menu’s lead with local twists on the classics.
Must-try: Herb-crusted Barramundi, Lobster Tagliatelle, Duck Confit
How much: Mains start from IDR 140,000++
Address: Jl Pantai Batu Bolong No. 91, Canggu

Opening Hours: Daily 12pm – 11pm
11. Bokashi
Japanese-inspired tea house with farm-to-table menus, eco-friendly practices and organic groceries.

With locations in both Berawa and Pererenan, you’ll need to visit both Bokashi outlets to get a taste of its different specialities. Whichever you visit, Bokashi is a Japanese-inspired tea house that blends refined Japanese flavours with Indonesian soul.
I’ll admit, the stunning interiors and the charming garden setting were what drew me in. But, I stayed because of its commitment to sustainability, repurposing waste and championing eco-friendly practices.
Bokashi’s dishes are crafted with fresh produce from their own LYD Organic farm, and the menus change based on what’s in season. And a visit here isn’t complete without stocking up on Bokashi’s own brand of sustainable goodies from their organic grocery store.

At this cool but casual, European-inspired restaurant in Canggu, it’s all about top quality ingredients done right. Everything is homemade and served simply to let the flavours really shine. True to form, Masonry also slings superb cocktails in a stylish, open-air sitting, full to the rafters every night with Canggu’s finest.
I could easily graze through the shared starters for a taste of everything, then tuck into their wood-fired specialties with top-notch goodies like Wagyu ribeye or giant Papuan prawns. I won’t lie, I’ve made it a whole day of grazing on Batu Bolong street, with a bistro-style lunch stop, then an elevated BBQ dinner at its backroom steak house, Chop House.

13. Billy Ho
Asian Boteco dining by Chef Will Meyrick with tapas plates, sushi and signature cocktails.

Billy Ho is a sophisticated Asian Boteco brought to us by the famed Chef Will Meyrick. True to form, Will infuses the distinct flavours of Asia into one delish menu, all centred around small and large plates to share.
Start with the flame-torched Salmon Tornado with salted egg yolk, and the grilled Hokkaido scallop with miso butter and yuzu kosho. Move on to the red-glaze lamb shoulder, or my fave, the Japanese saffron risotto with chilli prawns and kombu butter. Best bit is, there are even special menus for vegan and gluten-free diets.
And if you swing by on a weekend, you can get a taste of it all with Billy Ho’s Asian-inspired brunch. Think dim sum, sushi and so much more. It goes without saying that the house-crafted cocktails and fine wines are not to be missed either…

First, everything is served up amidst sleek Japanese aesthetics, right beside the seaside. Then, there’s Yuki’s boundary-pushing menu that’s a fusion of fine ingredients and contemporary twists. All topped off with an impeccable drinks list and a nifty fit-out, too. To find this breezy beachfront restaurant, just follow the beautiful Canggu crowds heading towards Batu Bolong Beach!

15. Muda By/Suka
Asian fusion dining with European twist, craft cocktails and a lively Canggu vibe.

If you’re after bold Asian flavours in Canggu, Muda By/Suka deserves a spot on your list. If you ask me, it’s easily one of Bali’s best Asian restaurants, with a clever mix of Southeast Asian flavours and European ingredients. The two-storey set-up is smart too: downstairs is a traditional Balinese joglo with a slick onyx cocktail bar. Upstairs is where you’ll want to be at sunset, with Japanese-inspired cocktails and loungey jazz. It feels like Canggu, but with a little extra polish.
Now, about that menu. You can order à la carte (the burrata with kimchi is wildy delicious), but if you want the full experience, go for the “Feed Me” tasting menu. Highlights for me were the red snapper kinilaw ceviche, the fragrant Thai green curry, and the smoky miso-glazed charcoal chicken. And yes, dessert is absolutely worth saving space for.
It’s this mix of food, cocktails and atmosphere that makes Muda By/Suka stand out in Canggu’s crowded dining scene. And it’s the perfect place for anyone who thinks they’ve “done” Bali dining.
Must-try: Burrata & Kimchi, Kinilaw Ceviche, Thai Green Curry, Miso Glazed Charcoal Chicken.

With its European-inspired interiors and cosmopolitan energy, this Canggu restaurant is where you can linger over produce-driven dishes crafted with classic techniques, modern twists and local flavours. Think charcoal-roasted chicken, red snapper tartare, and a banoffee soufflé with coconut gelato. And the drinks? A standout selection of wines and expert cocktails, slung from the intimate, low-lit bar.

17. Santanera
Latin American fusion with organic local produce and a rooftop cocktail bar.

Blending Latin American flavours and European influences, Santanera is a refined, farm-to-table dining experience in the heart of Canggu. It drew me in simply for its triple-height ceilings, leather lounges, marble tabletops and a gorgeous spiral staircase, all lit with natural lighting from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
Santanera champions organic, locally sourced produce, so obviously the food made me stay. Graze all day on smoked, marinated, and whipped delicacies, which went perfectly with sommelier-selected wine from their own cellar. And I couldn’t leave without heading up to the stylish rooftop bar for a pre-dinner sunset aperitivo, and a vibey nightcap.
Must-try: Foie Gras Parfait, Colombian Corn Cake, Mahi Mahi Tarama
How much: Mains start from IDR 180,000++
Address: Jl Tanah Barak No. 55 – 57, Canggu
WhatsApp: +62 812 4665 8896
Opening Hours: Daily from 12pm
18. Origen
Bold Mexican cuisine with handmade tortillas and mezcal margaritas in Pererenan.

You simply can’t miss Origen – it’s one of the most breathtaking restaurants in Canggu. And just as bold as its interiors is its vibrant Mexican food, which uses Bali’s freshest ingredients and authentic Mexican spices. I knew the food would be legit since they handmake their own corn tortillas, but it exceeded my expectations.
Try the perfectly seared tuna tostadas, and the slow-cooked beef birria with melted mozzarella. The snapper ceviche is also a winner, while the golden, cinnamon-dusted churros are downright addictive. And of course, no Mexican feast would be complete without a mezcal margarita…
Must-try: Tostada de Atun, Tacos Quesa Birria, Ceviche Mexicano, Churros
How much: Mains start from IDR 150,000++
Address: Jl Pantai Pererenan No. 123, Pererenan

19. Zali
Authentic Lebanese dining inspired by family recipes, mezze platters and fresh tabbouleh.

There’s no place I’d rather be than Zali for a modern Levantine dining experience in Bali. This breezy restaurant sits right on Pererenan’s main street, so it’s a great spot to watch the world go by, while grazing on authentic Lebanese cuisine. The concept is inspired by a Lebanese grandmother’s home recipes, with every dish telling a story of tradition and passion.
I can’t say no to the crispy falafel saj, the roasted chicken musakhan, and the zesty tabbouleh salad. And of course, the bountiful mezze platters. Think creamy hummus, smoky babaganoush, and rich cauliflower moutabbal.

20. Ina Ré
Latin-Mediterranean contemporary dining at Desa Kitsuné with seafood paella and curated wine cave.

You’ll find Ina Ré inside Desa Kitsuné, AKA Canggu’s boundary-pushing lifestyle village. It’s an impressive collaboration between Maison Kitsuné and Savaya Group, slinging Latin-Mediterranean cuisine you won’t find anywhere. This elevated dining experience is helmed by Chilean chef Cristian Encina, and it pays homage to the rich flavours of Latin street food, together with unwavering service.
Everything is designed to share, so I gathered up my hungry crew and got a taste of everything. My standouts include the king prawn and mango ceviche, braised pork tacos with pineapple crunch, wood-fired striploin and the Ina Ré signature seafood paella. And with a fully-stocked wine cave, you’ll want to get dressed in your best for this one…
Must-try: Stockyard Beef Tartare, Braised Pork Tacos, Ina Ré Seafood Paella
Located in: Desa Kitsuné

21. Smoke
Low-and-slow barbecue dining by the firepit with sunset rice field views and smoky flavours.

Aptly named, Smoke specialises in all things smokey, barbecued and down right delicious. Seafood, chicken, pork, beef, and even mushrooms and tempeh, you name it, they’ve mastered the art of low and slow cooking (with some meats cooked for over 18 hours!). Dining here is an experience, a camping experience to be exact. The outdoor tent houses Smoke’s dining area, where you can get cosy by the glowing, campfire-style fire pit which takes centre stage.
While everything here is best shared with a group of friends or family, it’s also great for couples. It’s set in the rice fields, so at sunset, it gleams a golden glow, just like the embers of the piping charcoal grill…

Try the signature Dragon of Ji sushi roll (a chopstick treat of crispy ebi tempura, slick avocado slices and a creamy, slightly spicy sauce) and the Japanese-style Hamachi carpaccio.
