Need to fuel up before a day of shopping? Head to the best cafes in Seminyak for great coffee, stylish food and Instagrammable nooks.
Seminyak isn’t just Bali’s stylish neighbourhood for boutique shopping and cocktail bars. It’s also where Bali’s cafe culture first took off. While Canggu gets plenty of hype these days, I still think Seminyak is home to some of the best cafes on the island. This is where you’ll find world-class coffee, that vegan cafe you saw on Instagram, and the birthplace of Bali’s smoothie bowl culture. I’ve tried them all, and here’s my shortlist of Seminyak’s must-visit cafes I keep going back to.
My favourite cafes in Seminyak right now:
- Best overall: Hut by Shelter
- Best for all-day dining: Craved
- Best for plant-based food: KYND
- Best for coffee: Revolver Espresso
11 Top Cafes in Seminyak for Breakfast & Lunch
1. Hut by Shelter
A leafy rooftop hideaway with great coffee and an artisanal, locally-focussed menu.

If you want to escape the busy streets of Seminyak, hide away at Hut by Shelter. It’s a tropical rooftop hangout for a chilled bite, and the food is second to none. Climb upstairs and you’re in a little jungle canopy, with trailing plants and plenty of space to spread out.
The menu is all about locally-sourced ingredients, with most of the produce being made in-house. There’s the grilled mushrooms on toast layered with quinoa tabouleh, and tuna ceviche with charcoal tacos and a smoked chilli oil. You’ll also find a juicy cheeseburger, a gooey Croque Madame, and Korean-fried chicken and waffles.
To top it off, coffee is reliably strong, and it’s one of those cafes where you can settle in with a laptop and hide away from the Seminyak madness below.
Best for: Morning brunch dates or munching amongst greenery in between shopping trips.
Must-try dishes: Grilled mushrooms on toast, tuna ceviche, Croque Madame.
Good to know: This place is popular with digital nomads, so expect to see laptops at lunch.
Local tip: If you love Hut by Shelter, make a reservation at Shelter Pererenan (in Canggu) for dinner – it’s one of Bali’s best restaurants.
Address: Jl Drupadi 1 No. 2b, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, 7am – 5pm.
2. Sisterfields
Seminyak’s original, Melbourne-inspired brunch place with Instagrammable all-day dining.

If Seminyak had a cafe hall of fame, Sisterfields would be at the very top. This Melbourne-inspired all-day brunch spot has been packed since it opened, with queues out the door proving it’s still doing something right. I’ve been here more times than I can count, and the service never misses a beat. Despite the queues, you’re settled in quickly with a coffee while the kitchen sends out its famously photogenic plates.
From breakfast through dinner, it’s classic Aussie brunch done with flair. There’s smashed avo, big salads, and their legendary burgers. When friends ask me “what are the best cafes places in Seminyak?”, this is the first name out of my mouth. Sisterfields is the blueprint of Bali brunch culture.
Best for: An all-day Melbourne-style brunch in the heart of Seminyak.
Must-try dishes: The Sisterfields burger, smashed avo toast, sticky BBQ pork bao.
How much: Breakfast starts from IDR 95,000++
Good to know: Expect queues, but don’t worry, the service is super fast so you’ll be seated in no time.
Local tip: Head there on weekdays to dodge the weekend brunch rush.
Address: Jl Kayu Cendana No. 7, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, 7am – 9pm.
3. Craved
An all-day brunch-to-dinner cafe blending Western and Asian flavours.

It’s no surprise that Craved is considered one of the best cafes in Seminyak – it’s been loved by both expats and locals for years. It always feels welcoming and relaxed, and the menu has found the sweet spot between Western classics (like Eggs Benny and Avo Toast) alongside creative Asian flavours (my fave is the Hawaiian shrimp and salmon bowl, drizzled in a spicy dressing).
I also love that Craved uses the freshest greens, free-range eggs, house-made dips, compotes and dressings. Even the sticky barbecue pork ribs are made with an all-natural BBQ sauce. There’s also a buttery croissant filled with house-made salmon gravlax, tropical smoothies bowls featuring local fruit, and hearty burgers, sandwiches, pastas and sides for lunch.
And did I mention, Craved doesn’t stop at brunch? As the sun sets, the cafe transforms with a distinct dinner menu. Think pan-seared barramundi, slow-cooked lamb shank, plus an entire menu of premium steaks and classic cocktails.
Best for: All-day dining that shifts seamlessly from brunch to dinner.
Must-try dishes: Eggs Benny, Hawaiian Shrimp and Salmon Bowl, Grass Fed Angus Sirloin Steak.
Good to know: They make most of their produce in-house, from dips and dressings to pastries.
Local tip: Come back in the evening for steak and cocktails – the dinner menu is a hidden gem.
Address: Jl Camplung Tanduk No.9A, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily from 8am – 10 pm.
4. KYND
Vegan food that’ll convert even the most committed carnivores.

You simply can’t miss KYND… not only because the food is plastered over every Instagram feed worldwide, but because you literally won’t be able to miss the bright pink frontage and long queues that spill out onto Petitenget street. It’s always busy, and it’s become one of the most recognisable cafe backdrops in Bali. But here’s the twist: KYND is totally vegan.
Yes, a vegan restaurant in Bali has taken over Seminyak’s cafe scene, and I’ve worked my way through almost all of the dishes here because this place is worth the hype. I can never go past the Balinese Big Mac, those iconic smoothie bowls, or the vegan brekkies with an “egg yolk” that actually oozes. The coffee is solid too, and the vegan ice cream is my go-to takeaway when I don’t want to wait for a table.
Best for: World-renowned vegan food in Seminyak.
Must-try dishes: The Balinese Big Mac, smoothie bowls, vegan ice cream.
Good to know: KYND is now open in Canggu and Uluwatu too!
Local tip: It’s almost always packed, so come early in the morning or late afternoon for shorter queues.
Address: Jl Raya Petitenget No. 12x, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, 8am – 10pm.
5. Cafe Organic
The original tropi-cool café that made smoothie bowls a Bali icon.

Cafe Organic was one of the first cafes that put Seminyak on the global map. Step inside and you’ll see why it’s still going strong. It used to be all white with pineapples on every table, but these days, it’s had a stylish revamp. It’s now chic and minimalist, with light wood, clean lines and an air of Mediterranean aesthetics.
The menu has had a glow-up too. It’s still wholesome and fully vegetarian, but it feels more grown-up. Think brekkie ciabattas, smoked babaganoush dip, banoffee pancakes and chia parfait. Their wraps and burgers have become staples, and I still order the fresh juices because, like the food, they’ve only gotten better.
Best for: A Bali cafe classic that defined the Seminyak brunch scene.
Must-try dishes: Banoffee pancakes, brekky ciabatta, cheeken schnitzel burger
Good to know: The menu is all vegetarian, with plenty of vegan choices too.
Local tip: This is a great cafe to cool off in, as it’s totally enclosed with air-conditioning.
Address: Jl Petitenget No. 99x, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, 8am – 4pm.

6. Sea Circus
A quirky cafe with colourful brunches, hangover cures and playful interiors.

Sea Circus is Seminyak’s brightly-coloured cafe institution that’s decked out in jazzy hues of sea green and neon pink, with staff fitted out in my favourite Bali Boat Shed garbs. They understand that life is all about balance, so the menu has got you covered on all counts. There are indulgent waffles, pancakes and milk lattes for breakfast, and big juicy burgers for lunch. Curing the hangover from hell? There’s even a whole menu of Hangover Happy Meals if you partied a little too hard last night. Or, make it a Sin City feast with a Sea Circus Bloody Mary – tried and tested!
Best for: A boozy brunch in a quirky, colourful setting.
Must-try dishes: Fairy Floss Pancakes, Pulled Pork Burrito
How much: Breakfast starts from IDR 75,000++
Good to know: This cafe has recently moved locations – but don’t fret, it’s just across the street from the original.
Local tip: Come here to cure your hangover, or to kick off a daytime party (yes, they serve brunch cocktails!).
Address: Jl Kayu Aya No.22, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, from 7.30am
6. Revolver Espresso
An inner city cool cafe that takes you to New York City circa 1980s.

Seriously good coffee is exactly what I found at Revolver. It’s arguably the originator of Bali’s coffee craze, tucked down a little laneway in downtown Seminyak. I love settling in here for brunch, because of its slightly grungy warehouse feel and inner-city cool vibes. It’s exactly how I picture New York City cafes in the 1980s!
I always stop by here for Revolver’s specialty coffees and cold brews in between my Seminyak shopping spree. But trust me, you’ll want to come back in the evening too, for some of the best espresso martinis and coffee-based signature cocktails in Bali. Psst – other Bali cafes have jumped on the Revolver bandwagon, meaning you can find these specialty brews in other hip cafes in Seminyak and all over Bali.
Best for: Specialty coffee and brunch.
Must-try dishes: Croissant Eggs Benedict, Overnight Oats.
Good to know: There are Revolver cafes at the airport’s domestic and international terminals for your pre-flight pick-me-up.
Local tip: There’s a smaller version of Revolver in Petitenget called Baby Revs – it’s a cosy “living room”, perfect for intimate catchups and coffee dates at daytime (this one closes at 5pm).
Address: Jl Kayu Aya Gang 51, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, 7am – 11pm.
7. Pison Coffee
An industrial-chic Sydney cafe in Seminyak.

A humble red brick warehouse from the outside, a serious specialty coffee house and cafe inside. Pison is where you’ll find their legendary Espresso Avocado: house-roasted Sumatran coffee beans mixed with luscious avocado. But it’s also the classics that Pison does best. I usually make myself at home with my laptop at the leather sofa, as I sip on their signature single origin Sumatra Bluebatak – slightly sweet and syrupy yet with a serious coffee kick. Sometimes I even get to chat with Pison’s friendly owner, Arlini Wibowo, who would happily share plenty of coffee insight and awesome stories!
Best for: Remote working powered by strong brews and fusion food.
Must-try dishes: Belgian Waffle, Salmon Fried Rice, The Red Velvet Burger.
Good to know: Pison in Seminyak is an urban style cafe, whereas the Ubud restaurant is where you can dine by their own rice paddies.
Local tip: You’ll want to stay back for dinner as there’s a live band performing every evening.
Address: Jl Petitenget No. 19, Seminyak.
Opening hours: Daily, from 7am.
8. Neon Palms
A stylish Seminyak cafe with food that’s as photogenic as it is delicious.

I found Neon Palms by chance when I went shopping at Bali Boat Shed. This Seminyak cafe sits directly above Bali’s famed technicoloured boutique, perfect for a little midday break. The jungly hideaway is as fashionable as the floor below, with wildlife murals, hand-tiled terrazzo flooring, and of course, an exceptional menu from the same Aussie chefs who gave us Sea Circus.
The all-day menu is all about brunch-style bites, as well as big bowls, tacos and tapas inspired by both Asian and modern Australian cuisine. But don’t leave without sampling your way through the sugar-free brunch cocktails, healthy potions and drool-worthy thickshakes. And did we mention, these guys have an epic selection of vegan dishes too?
Best for: Instagram photo hunters.
Must-try dishes: Acai Smoothie Bowl, Epic French Toast, Salmon & Quinoa Bowl.
Good to know: Neon Palms is located on the second floor of Seminyak’s iconic store, Bali Boat Shed.
Local tip: There are daily promos for breakfasts and Happy Hours.

10. Biku
Charming joglo house best known for traditional high tea and family-friendly dining.

You’re in for a magical afternoon at this charming Seminyak restaurant, which is housed within a traditional Javanese joglo. Biku is best known for its afternoon high tea selections, like the traditional English tower filled with sticky jams and homemade scones, an Asian high tea, and a fab kid’s version for a family-friendly tea party. There’s also a range of salads, juices and an a la carte menu, all of which is to-die-for. You can even try a session with Biku’s resident tarot clairvoyant, but you’ll need to book weeks in advance.
Best for: Family-friendly afternoon tea and treats

How much: Breakfast starts from IDR 38,000++
Address: Jl Taman Ganesha Gg. Bina No. 888, Petitenget
Opening hours: Daily, 8am – 11pm
9. Livingstone Cafe & Bakery
A one-stop-spot for coffee and pastries.

Livingstone has been serving specialty coffees to Seminyak residents since 2014, so it’s bound to be on my cafe-hopping list. It’s loved by many for good reasons, starting with the three special house blends (aptly named too!) that suit all tastes. The Petitenget Blend (Brazilian, Toraja and Ethiopian beans) has sweet and slightly fruity notes of chocolate, hazelnut and tangerine. Meanwhile, the Canggu Blend of Sumatra beans is nutty with notes of nougat, almond and chocolate. But the Kintamani Blend (Kintamani and Ethiopian beans) never fails to lure me in with its floral aroma, and hints of vanilla and mandarin. Hot tip: the bakery’s ultra buttery croissants go with every sip, best enjoyed in the cafe’s industrial-meets-garden interior.
Best for: Baked goods and a wide range of coffee beans.
Must-try dishes: Smoked Salmon Benedict, Brioche French Toast.
Good to know: Livingstone’s second cafe in Ubud has a spacious kids’ playground.
Local tip: Downstairs is a breezy brunch cafe, whereas upstairs is a grillery for dinner and cocktails.
Address: Jl Petitenget No. 88X, Kerobokan.
Opening hours: Daily, 7am – 10pm.

Coffee that looks and tastes sensational.

With a name like Coffee Cartel, it’s no surprise that this boutique coffee house in Seminyak means serious business when it comes to your daily coffee. These top dogs are dominating Petitenget’s caffeine scene with their unique latte art seen on Instagram feeds around the world. Using their specialist Ripple Machine and using patented printing technology, Coffee Cartel can recreate any image or text right on top of your cappuccino or latte foam. 11. Corner House
A French bistrot in a bustling Seminyak corner.

Tucked away at the top corner of Oberoi, Corner House has long been Seminyak’s beloved hangout. This cosy, French bistrot-chic cafe is where you’ll find coffees, cakes, juices, European-style breakfast and dinner, all whilst taking in its Antipodean charm. And if you’re bringing the young ones out to eat, a kids’ menu is available too! Otherwise, there’s a great cocktail list for a glam Seminyak brunch…
Best for: All-day grazing whilst street-watching.
Must-try dishes: Smashed Avocado, Florentine Omelette, Pesto Chicken Club.
Good to know: Breakfast is served all day for the late risers.
