We all already know and love Sentosa for its beaches and resorts - but now the island is taking things further with a new, exciting line-up of after-hours events and activities
We’re pretty sure Sentosa needs no introduction – it’s Singapore’s most famous island resort, after all. We usually make a beeline for its gorgeous beaches when we’re in need of a serious tan, but there’s actually more to the island than sun, sand and sea. These days, Sentosa has seriously stepped up its nightlife game – there’s now a free shuttle bus that’ll take you right to your favourite Sentosa bar for after-work drinks, neon art installations to get that Instagram money shot, discounted cable car rides for the picture-perfect sunset view, and more!
Light up your Instagram feed with Pop Up Night on Sentosa
Now that the Yayoi Kusama exhibition is over, we’re filling up our Instagram feed with stunning shots at the Pop Up Night along Siloso Beach on Sentosa. Created by local artists Sam Lo (a.k.a. Sticker Lady), SophO, The Super System and Adeline Loo, the UV neon art installations lighting up the beach are a surreal sight. Then, add your own creative touch at the Neon Light Doodle Wall on Siloso Beach (Fridays to Sundays). Snap away at the Light Painting Photo Booth (Fridays to Saturdays) for a unique shot for the ‘Gram.
Pop Up Night, 20 October to 12 November, 7pm to 11pm, Siloso Beach. A second installment will be coming up later, so stay tuned!
Catch more neon lights at the Merlion Plaza on Sentosa
The neon trend is strong, and this special edition of the Merlion Magic Lights show, that’s available from now until 29 October, is jumping on the bandwagon. The towering attraction lights up in psychedelic colours and animations, complete with special audio effects. Groovy! Come November, a celebration theme will take the spotlight – you won’t want to miss that either.
Merlion Magic Lights, happening now till 1 Jan 2017, except 30 October to 2 November, every 30 minutes from 7.45pm to 9.15pm on weekdays and 7.45pm to 10.45pm on weekends, Merlion Plaza.
Get into the festive spirit at ONE˚15 Marina Sentosa Cove
Christmas is coming early at ONE˚15 Marina Sentosa Cove, with a spectacular two-day ONE15 Christmas Boat Light Parade. Before you take in the breathtaking sight of boats decked out in creative Christmas light installations and decorations, head to the Sentosa Cove Holiday Market to pick up trinkets and gifts, or stay for the Christmas tree light up on 19 November. The little ones will also be entertained, with Christmas carolers, and entertainers dressed as Santa Claus and his elves.

Hop on a free shuttle bus to score one-for-one drinks
No designated driver is necessary for this bar hop. You can now board a GrabShuttle from VivoCity or one of the five office locations for free every Thursday, and it’ll drop you off at bars in Sentosa. Just download the GrabShuttle app, search for ‘Sentosa’, pick a route, and you’ll be able to track the bus schedules in real-time. Fret not if you’re coming from other parts of Singapore – you’ll get to score $4 off your Grab ride with the promo code ‘Thirsty4’. How’s that for an early start to the weekend?
