The name doesn’t lie: the lovely home décor store definitely has charm in spades with its impressive selection of pre-loved furniture and home accessories.
Having been around since 2002, Second Charm is the granddaddy of the local vintage furniture scene. Founder Sharifah Maznah, who has a terrific eye for detail, packs her quaint 8,000 square feet showroom with beautifully restored pieces featuring designs that range from Victorian to Art Deco, Peranakan, and mid-century.
Salvaged and restored to perfection, every piece in Second Charm may look spanking new – but rest assured that no history gets buffed away in the nip-and-tuck process. Whatever your design aesthetic may be, there’s sure to be something that’ll tickle your fancy: be it a mod armchair from the ‘60s (complete with groovy upholstery), a Louis Quinze chair with a matching sideboard, or a show-stopping Peranakan stained glass screen.
Not too fond of the idea of owning antiques older than your grandparents? Second Charm also creates its own range of vintage-inspired furniture. We’ll admit: we had trouble telling the new from the old pieces – that’s how authentic-looking they are! And if your pre-existing furniture needs some TLC, the team will nurse them back to health with restoration, customisation, and re-upholstery services.
