Rosini Naidu tells us about her journey starting TheMeetUpSG, an all-in-one events planner.
We love entrepreneurs and small business owners at Honeycombers, which is why we’ve created Launchpad, a digital networking platform with IRL benefits. It’s a privilege and pleasure to learn from so many talented folks! Looking for inspiration? Check out how Rosini Naidu, the founder of TheMeetUpSG, gets it done like a boss.

Tell us the story behind your business.
Back in 2017, I was drawn to the rising trend of B2C picnics and felt inspired by how people were reimagining outdoor experiences. Together with Darlene, we decided to put our creative spin on it, crafting artisanal picnics at some of the most scenic locations around Singapore.
What began as beautifully styled picnics soon evolved into something more. We started curating intimate wedding proposals, milestone birthdays, and eventually moved into the corporate space. The brand we built in those early days opened doors for us to take on larger-scale events like dinners and dances, conferences, and even overseas retreats. It’s been an exciting journey of growth and transformation.
What are some milestones or achievements you’re proud of?
Most recently, receiving the Singapore SME 500 Award in 2025 for business excellence was an incredibly proud moment. It was not only a recognition of our hard work but also a huge motivation to keep pushing forward.
But beyond the accolades, what I’m most grateful for is the journey with my team. Watching us grow together, sharing the same vision, and helping clients bring their ideas to life – those are the moments I hold closest to my heart. Seeing an event come together seamlessly, from the first spark of an idea to its execution, is always deeply fulfilling.

Share a setback that taught you a valuable lesson about running a business.
Covid was a challenging time for the events industry as a whole, and we were no exception. But looking back, it became a pivotal turning point for me. It forced me to rethink the fundamentals of my business, and I realised how valuable our lean operations were. That period ultimately inspired my shift toward the B2B space, which turned out to be one of the best strategic decisions I’ve made.
Describe a typical day in your life and what you love most about it.
My day usually starts with reviewing emails from clients and vendors, followed by a quick team huddle to align on priorities and ensure everyone’s clear on the day’s goals. I spend part of the morning reviewing quotations and proposals, ensuring every detail is perfect before they’re sent to clients.
If there are meetings lined up, we head out to present concepts and walk clients through our vision for their event. These in-person discussions are invaluable. They help us build trust, clarify expectations, and spark fresh ideas.
What I love most is the balance between creativity and problem-solving. No two days are ever the same, and the thrill of turning a vision into reality never gets old.
What’s your favourite book, movie, or TV show that has influenced your entrepreneurial mindset?
Honestly, I didn’t grow up with an entrepreneurial mindset, and there wasn’t a specific book or show that sparked it for me. My drive came more from real-life experiences and the desire to create something of my own. But if I had to choose something, it would be Shark Tank. It’s inspiring to watch everyday people pitch big ideas with confidence and grit.

Any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Don’t wait for the perfect moment – just start. You’ll never have all the answers, and that’s okay. Experience is the best teacher, and you learn the most by doing.
Expect setbacks; they’re part of the process. Especially in events, things don’t always go according to plan. What matters is how you adapt, stay calm, and keep going. Resilience is everything.
Also, focus on building authentic relationships with your team, your clients, and your vendors. These connections are what carry you through the tougher days.
Lastly, never stop learning. The industry evolves quickly, and staying curious helps you grow as a leader and as a person. Running a business isn’t easy, but if you love what you do and are willing to put in the work, it’s incredibly rewarding.
Top tip for maintaining a good work-life balance?
Work-life balance isn’t always neat or perfect, especially as an entrepreneur. I’ve embraced work-life integration, where both coexist fluidly. Some days are intense, others allow pause and reflection. It’s about being present, intentional, and connected to what I do, rather than separating life and work into fixed compartments.
Favourite thing to do on weekends?
I love spending quality time with my friends, family, and my dog, Captain! It’s the perfect reset after a hectic week.
Tell us one fun fact about yourself that not many people know.
I started this business with just $300 – no mentor, no roadmap, just pure determination and a willingness to figure things out as I went.
