With Carmen & Natasha
Calling fashionistas, Singapore’s coolest and most luxe department store is here and worthy of your attention! Admittedly we were quite pessimistic when they renovated the Heeren, because who would have thought Orchard Road needed yet another mall? But the minute we stepped into Robinsons on Orchard, we fell in love.
Exclusive
The new department store on the block undoubtedly has the coolest array of designers, many of which are exclusive to Robinsons on Orchard – oh yes that’s right – we’re talking exclusive designer pieces that won’t be found anywhere else in Singapore!
Cozy Feel
Robinsons Orchard has a really cozy feel about it, unlike some of the other larger malls found in Singapore, which can feel like you are navigating around confusing (and sometimes frustrating) mazes.
Fab Designers
We found clothing curated by the ever-so-talented Ek Thongprasert, Alice by Temperley (one of Kate Middleton’s favourite designers), the Dutch brand Maison Scotch, Zadig&Voltaire, See by Chloe, Coast and we can go on and on.
We are super excited to see that this department store supports local and regional designers, including Indonesia’s famous jewellery designer Elizabeth Wahyu, Hong Kong’s Collette, Thailand’s Playhound by Greyhound to name a few. The women’s clothing section on level two is extensive, so make sure you check out all the nooks and crannies!
Beyond Fashion
Just when you think you’re free from all the fashion temptation by quickly escaping to the basement, we must warn you that you’re wrong. The basement contains so many household goodies, the cute and good quality kind that is. We’re talking really pretty teacups, an array of baking gadgets, pretty ice cream sundae glasses, you get the drift. For all the mummies out there, we spot Annabel Carmel’s baking goodies! Beware of the gelato stand – that’s another temptation we’re not good at resisting. Oh and there’s a pretty little florist at the bottom of the escalator, as well as Costa coffee and two Japanese restaurants, both good and reasonably priced!
The fifth floor will also blow you away, with so many varieties of candles quietly tucked into the beautifully displayed fluffy towels. Think of brands like Missoni home, Balmain, Kenzo and Lalique! The kids corner is pretty nifty too. They don’t have a great selection, but the way things are displayed just makes you want to buy them. There’s a cute little corner where the kids can do finger painting, so you don’t have to feel too guilty for dragging your kiddies around with you!
You know what, do yourself a favour and check out every floor, we guarantee you’ll see why this is our favourite department store in Singapore!
