Here are the festive dining highlights at RWS this Christmas and New Year.
Fratelli Trattoria
The Italians have a saying, ‘He who works, eats. He who doesn’t work, eats, drinks, and sleeps.’ If you or your loved ones have been putting in extra hours at the office, then it’s time you all start living a little as the saying goes! Re-centre yourselves at Fratelli Trattoria, where food is the heart of a culture steeped in a love of life. From authentic age-old recipes served with a twist, like the homemade tortellini with capon consommé, to seasonal delicacies like the chestnut stuffed turkey breast roulade with glazed pearl onions and marsala wine sauce, you and your companions will be going Ho! Ho! Ho! with a spring in your steps as you all say ciao to 2019.
For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the restaurant is set to serve a five-course special menu (from $168++ per person) with indulgences like truffle, foie gras and traditional Italian nougat. For New Year’s Day, a five-course special runs as well (from $198++ per person) and will feature even more exquisite gourmet creations – such as the Carnaroli risotto with Alaskan king crab meat, and the beetroot glazed grilled langoustine tail with buffalo ricotta. Mouth-watering!
Osia Steak & Seafood Grill
Fancy a platter to share? Osia Steak and Seafood Grill festive specials are all about that jovial coming together for the holidays. Known for using premium meats from boutique farms in Australia, internationally sourced seafood, and lava stone grilling, they are a must-try if surf and turf gets you raring to go. A four-course festive menu runs from now till 23 December (from $165++ per person, minimum of 2 diners), which serves up sharing platters of meat such as Angus beef, ribeye, and pasture-fed lamb rack; together with platters of seafood such as grilled Maine lobster, Hokkaido scallop, and Fremantle octopus.
Their five-course Christmas and New Year’s menu (also from $165++ per person, minimum of 2 diners) presents the best seasonal meats and seafood, from wagyu beef tenderloin and duck leg confit, to Hiramasa kingfish and crayfish. Vegetarian set dinners will also be available during Christmas and New Year’s, which is perfect if you and your date have different dietary choices but want to feast together!

Of note is the six-course Osechi dinner menu (from $208++ per person) on New Year’s Day (also the Japanese New Year), which features highly-prized Japanese ingredients in dishes such as sea urchin rolled by wagyu beef, and charcoal grilled Kagoshima A4 wagyu beef with red miso sauce. This makes for a fantastic treat for the sake connoisseur on your nice list, as sake pairing will be available at an additional $88++.
