An island retreat with comprehensive wellness offerings, Oasia Resort Sentosa is a true stunner.
I travel frequently for work, but I don’t often come across an idyllic hotel that’s both an escape from the city and a convenient commute to town. So I was pleased to experience a stay at Oasia Resort Sentosa, which ticks all the boxes for a tranquil getaway. It also offers amazing leisure, dining and transport options. If you’re in town for business, this hotel is just 15 minutes away from Singapore’s central business district! Here’s what I experienced…
A gorgeous retreat within nature
I stepped foot into Oasia Resort Sentosa’s sprawling compound and was greeted with a scenic view, surrounded by lush vegetation and fresh air. First off, I checked into my room, a Junior Suite overlooking the picturesque greenery. Each room is stocked with Oasia Signature teas, a Lavazza coffee machine with capsules and an eco-friendly refillable water filtration system. As part of my Oasia Wellness Signature package, there was an array of minibar treats – I particularly liked the wellness drinks from Asmara for a health boost.
R&R at the incredible spa
An island resort is great, and it’s even better when there’s a dedicated spa. Oasia Resort Sentosa is home to Oasia Spa which offers pampering treatments for a true wellness retreat. My package came with a 60-minute body massage for two, and I was stoked to pop by for a spot of relaxation.
Using specially curated products from Kotoshina, a leading organic skincare brand from Japan, the journey started with aromatherapy to soothe my nerves. After a body scrub, the massage therapist worked her magic with a nourishing Kotoshina green tea seed oil.
As the first spa destination by Far East Hospitality, I’d say Oasia Spa hits the spot. Its full-body massage combines the essence of traditional Thai massage, Japanese bodywork of shiatsu pressure points, and Indian massage techniques for optimal relaxation. It sent me to dreamland in a jiffy.
For those who have time to spare, or are keen on hands-on activities, check out the ‘Wellness Hour’ activities at the spa. These crafting workshops will school you on creating your own body balm or candles to bring home.
Fitness for wellness
Oasia Resort Sentosa champions an active lifestyle for wellness, so I wasn’t surprised there were workout activities designed to add movement to your day. I headed to the outdoor deck during golden hour for a sunset yoga session – and boy, was it a good way to spend the evening!
If yoga isn’t your cup of tea, there’s also sunrise qi gong and aqua Zumba classes to try. Plus, the resort has a picture-worthy swimming pool if you want to take a dip.
Prefer to work out in private? Every room comes with on-demand wellness videos, guided meditation and high intensity workout programmes, so you can easily take your pick.
Wholesome nosh from Bedrock Origin
Taking inspiration from its beachside locale, Bedrock Origin’s creations bring together the freshest ingredients from land and sea. Fittingly, the hotel’s coastal restaurant has an amazing seafood selection.
I highly recommend the aged barramundi tail, with fork-tender flesh and a savoury marinade of chilli, herbs and lemon. The freshly shucked oysters and Kingfish sashimi were also highlights, loaded with delicious briny flavours of the sea. I washed it all down with a glass of vino and was thoroughly satisfied. My standout meal was the perfect complement to this spectacular stay.
If you’re looking to refresh and recharge, I’d say give Oasia Resort Sentosa a go. This delightful wellness retreat left me rejuvenated in no time!
