Art lovers, listen up: LivingwithArt Singapore is a new exciting art hub that’s coming to the ‘hood.
There’s beauty all around us — you just gotta know where to look. PSA: If you’re staying in Bishan, boy are you in luck! Here are three reasons why you should visit LivingwithArt Singapore, a spanking new gallery that’s coming to the ‘hood at Midview City in May 2023.
1. LivingwithArt is bringing art to the neighbourhood
Move over, Junction 8 and Bishan Park, LivingwithArt is here to inject a pop of colour into the neighbourhood. This isn’t any plain old gallery that just sprung up on the scene, mind you; established in 2003, LivingwithArt aims to introduce art into all living spaces. The gallery is set up by Zak Lo, who is a practising artist himself. After all, who better to curate pieces of art than an artist who knows it best?
If you wanna spruce up a blank space in your home, or wow visitors with a statement piece, take your time to browse this wonderland of artworks sourced from all around the world. P.S. Zak Lo works with 15 full-time consultants, designers, and artists to create and curate art pieces that are the stars of the show no matter which home they go to. If you look closely, you’ll even find feng shui elements incorporated into certain pieces!
Keep an eye out for artists such as Aaron Gan, Jaime Teo, Renatta, Vicky Yeow, Zhu Hong, and more. Wanna channel your inner child? Check out the whimsical Be@rbricks line-up. Alternatively, #supportlocal with artists like Amanda Lim, Andy Yong, and William Lee Jik Yun.
If you think that art is expensive, think again! Believe it or not, you’ll be able to get your hands on some astounding art without breaking the bank. Indeed, all the art at LivingwithArt Singapore is intentionally placed at a reasonable price point, aligning with the gallery’s aim of bringing affordable art into living spaces around Singapore.
2. Explore the mezzanine level
Really, there’s just so much to see! Be spoilt for choice with textural pieces, sculptures, and even triptychs (for the uninitiated, these are paintings split into three sections). Can’t find anything you fancy? You can even commission an artwork based on your desired style, medium, size, and budget.
Whilst in the gallery, don’t miss out on the mezzanine level that houses fine artworks — in contrast to the first level, which showcases decorative artwork done by international artists. Attention to detail is at the core of this level: take a stroll along rows and rows of artworks done in every style imaginable. Look at abstract, animal, botanical and floral, seascape pieces, and more. You name it, they probably have it in some form or other!
3. Plus, the gallery sprawls across a whopping 3,000 square feet
Warning: it’s easy to lose track of time in this artistic rabbit hole. With 3,000 square feet of space, the gallery also hosts both private and mass gatherings in the form of art exhibitions and events. Spend a couple of hours, or even the whole day here — and bring the entire fam, there’s something for everyone.
With a flagship at Tan Boon Liat and this new Bishan space, stay tuned for more exciting events and updates. We can’t wait to see what else is in store at LivingwithArt Singapore!
