What to expect

Prepare for an epic journey back in time. We were absolutely wowed as we stepped into the mist-covered greenery of the Cloud Forest. Walking among life-sized animatronic and sculpted dinosaurs nestled among the foliage was a dream come true. It’s perfect for Jurassic Park and Jurassic World fans, families with not-so-little ones (who won’t be intimidated by some of the more fearsome dinosaurs), and experience-seekers who love an interactive event.
Wear comfy shoes and expect to spend about 1.5 to 2 hours wandering around and admiring the creatures. At $26 for adults and $22 for children, this unique, immersive experience is worth the visit! Fun fact: we hear all the dinosaurs in the forest are female because, well, that’s how they were genetically engineered in the films.
All the zones we loved
Brachiosaurus Falls

The first thing you’ll lay eyes on? Two peaceful Brachiosaurus, one towering at 8.5 metres, right in front of the waterfall. They stand at the entrance like a gentle greeting, with their necks stretching towards the sky, surrounded by ancient plants like ginkgoes and conifers. Spot the iconic Jurassic World logo next to them as you continue on the pathway.
P.S. if you’ve never visited the Cloud Forest before, don’t be surprised if your shoes get wet from the waterfall spray.
Compsognathus Pack

Here’s where you’re ambushed by curious Compsognathus, or Compys, hidden among the greenery. These tiny creatures are sprinkled throughout the landscape, so keep an eye out! Tip: listen carefully, as the Jurassic World Dinosaur Creation Story is recounted through audio excerpts from the films’ iconic scenes.
Petting Zoo

This one’s our absolute favourite because you get up close and personal with adorable dino babies! These chubby tots are held by keepers who dole out fascinating nuggets of information about them.
We almost cried tears of joy as we got to pet Bumpy, the cutest Ankylosaurus, and Stygimoloch, a plant-eater with spikes on its skull. Just be gentle and let the little ones come to you before caressing them. Oh, and to up the excitement factor, different dinosaurs appear throughout the day, so you never know who you’ll meet.
Tyrannosaurus-rex Escape

See those lights flashing and warning alerts blaring? That’s the majestic Tyrannosaurus rex wrecking a fence and causing a power outage in its fierce attempt at freedom. What a throwback to the classic film. This gigantic animatronic predator is a marvel to behold as it roars ferociously and prowls stealthily. Honestly, we were mesmerised for a good 15 minutes.
If you notice the palm-like trees encircling it, these cycads are actually some of the world’s oldest living plant species. Nicknamed “dinosaur plants”, they appeared more than 280 million years ago, even before the first dinosaurs.
Aviary

Ever wanted to witness a dino throwdown? Gaze up and you’ll see a Pteranodon trio gliding above a pair of Velociraptors, who are locked in on their mountainside nests. Tip: you can get a bird’s eye view of this scene from the bridge above, too.
Evolution Walk

Here’s where things calm down. Head up the stairs to wander through the evolution of plants, featuring cool 3D recreations of never-before-seen extinct species. It’s a tranquil path that gives you a chance to relax before meeting the next dinosaur. We enjoyed gazing at what looked like fossils imprinted on rocks, but if you’re short on time, you can skip this section.
Stygimoloch Truck

Yup, the action is back on. Follow the tire tracks to the scene of an accident, where a truck has crashed into the forest. A poor, confused Stygimoloch pops its head out every so often, as if it’s wondering how it got into this mess and when the rescuers will arrive.
Brachiosaurus Encounter

We’re back to the amicable Brachiosaurus, which greets you by swaying its long neck up and down. Admire the colossal titan from all angles (including above, from the bridge) as it blinks and moves like the mild-mannered dinosaur we know and love.
Jurassic World Gate and photo op

Phones out for this one! You’ll recognise the famous gate at once, so don’t pretend you don’t want a photo with this legendary landmark. There’s also a photo op station where you can enact green screen poses. Don’t worry if you’re camera-shy. The friendly staff gave us directions like, “look terrified because T-rex is chasing you!” and “pretend you’re on the run from velociraptors!”, which naturally had us dissolving in giggles.
After you’ve collected your digital reels, you can get your snapshots printed out (for an additional fee) at the end of your journey.
Dilophosaurus Ambush

This one took us by surprise. You think you’re on the way out, when suddenly, a dark passageway turns into a facility left in ruins. Two Dilophosaurus await their chance to spit “venom” (okay, water) on you, so be warned. They operate by motion sensors, which means you might want to stay away from their line of fire (we got hit, so yes, we speak from experience).
Raptor Encounter

If you’re a fan of Chris Pratt’s Velociraptors, you’ll love coming face-to-face (literally, that’s how close you can get) with them. Of course, the cunning creatures are muzzled, but they’re still alert and observant. Just make movements near them and watch as the eyes of Charlie, Delta, and Echo track you. We were slightly disturbed.
Feeling like something’s missing? You’re right. At the next turn, you’ll spot an empty paddock belonging to Blue (she’s the pack leader from Jurassic World). Don’t be distracted by the huge screen with scenes from the movies. Avoid giving in to your intrusive thoughts and peeking into the door gaps by the huge sign that says, “Danger! Trained handlers only”.
Why? You guessed it, Blue will make an animatronic appearance, cool lighting and all. We’d recommend you stand behind the line for this one, ‘cos we got a shock when the raptor popped out. But it’s hands down the coolest surprise.

Before you head out, catch one last glimpse of the Compys and the Pteranodon, and have a chuckle at your photos that pop up on the screen before the exit.
Jurassic swag: Roar-some merch to get your hands on

The final pitstop is Gardens by the Bay’s retail store, which has an entire corner dedicated to Jurassic World: The Experience merch. We’re talking plushies, tees, notebooks, pencils, magnets and loads more.
We spotted adorable T-rex, Dilophosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Triceratops, Pyroraptor, and Velociraptor soft toys going for $36, as well as smaller clip-on plushies at $22. Themed Jurassic Park metal water bottles ($20) and ceramic mugs ($15) are also on display – you can never have too many cups!

If you’re looking for small souvenirs, check out the postcard stack ($8 for four), magnets in the shape of Bumpy and raptors (from $10), and dinosaur notebooks (from $8). Or go full-on fan mode with the classic Jurassic Park logo on tees ($30) and hoodies ($85).
And that’s everything you need to know about Jurassic World: The Experience!
