From thrilling theme parks like Warner Bros. Movie World and Sea World to the adrenaline-pumping Slingshot ride, the stunning SkyPoint Observation Deck, and tranquil nature and wildlife activities, Gold Coast has something for everyone.

For an unforgettable experience, make sure you try hot air ballooning! This amazing experience allows you to soar high above the breathtaking landscapes of this stunning region and view it from high above. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit on the Gold Coast, as it offers an immersive nature experience that brings visitors up close and personal to Australia’s unique wildlife. We’re talking kangas, koalas and croc for starters. Set in lush, subtropical rainforest, this iconic sanctuary is home to hundreds of native species, making it the perfect place to encounter fascinating animals in their natural habitats. Visitors from all ages will delight in feeding friendly lorikeets, a colourful ritual that takes place twice daily and has become a signature attraction of Currumbin.
But beyond the animals, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary provides plenty of activities and experiences. For thrill-seekers, the TreeTop Challenge ropes course offers an exciting way to explore the sanctuary from above, with zip lines and suspended bridges that wind through the canopy. One of my favourite highlights is the Wildlife Hospital, where visitors can learn about conservation efforts and see the critical care given to injured animals. You may be lucky and witness a koala give birth!

Need a shopping fix on your Gold Coast trip? Shoppholics will love a day at Pacific Fair and Harbour Town. Located near The Star Casino, Hotel & Spa, Pacific Fair combines a luxury experience with a laid-back coastal vibe. While art lovers can explore a vibrant street art scene and cultural festivals, there’s HOTA and the Gallery walk, to bookmark for immersive cultural experiences.
15. Tee up and take a swing
Golf enthusiasts, don’t miss the chance to experience Topgolf and Sanctuary Cove during your Gold Coast sojourn. Topgolf, a premier entertainment venue, combines all the fun of golfing with a unique twist on the traditional driving range. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a beginner, Topgolf provides a fun and interactive environment with climate-controlled bays, fab food, and lively tunes.
Just a short drive away, Sanctuary Cove is a luxe resort-style community that boasts shopping, dining, and of course, golf! Visitors can explore the charming marina, where they’ll find upscale boutiques and a variety of waterfront dining options, perfect for indulging in fresh seafood and Australian cuisine. With its stunning waterfront setting, Sanctuary Cove offers a retreat from the bustling city while still being close to the action.
16. Hit the Water
Ever wanted to captain your own boat for a couple of fun-filled hours? Make sure you check out the Duffy Limo Skipper experience with Duffy Down Under. It’s the perfect place to scratch the boatie itch. Not only will you get to self-drive the boat along Goldie’s most famous waterways, but your skipper will be there to guide the way and maybe even give you a tour of where A-list celebrities have bought stunning multi-million dollar waterfront mansions in the area. You can BYO all your own pre-dinner drinks and snacks, sit back, play your tunes and watch the sunset over the stunning Goldie skyline.
Finally, there’s the beach! It’s what Australia is known for after all. Enjoy 57km of stunning coastline along the Goldie coastline with a variety of swimming beaches and creeks. From famous spots like Surfers Paradise to more secluded beaches like Currumbin and Tugun, this region boasts some of the best surf and swimming locations in Australia. Lifeguards patrol many popular beaches, and my advice is to always swim between the flags!
All you need to know before your travels
Weather: Gold Coast’s weather is subtropical with warm summers (Dec-Feb) averaging 28°C, and mild winters (Jun-Aug) around 21°C. The dry season (May-Oct) is ideal for outdoor activities and is considered the best time to visit the Gold Coast as the weather is sunny and mild, with low humidity. While winter on the Gold Coast is generally dry, so rain rarely interferes with plans.
Transport: The G tram and bus networks cover popular areas. Rental cars are available, and taxis/ride-shares are common.
Currency: Australian Dollar (AUD). Most shops accept credit cards and mobile payments.
Visa Information: Singaporean citizens need a visa to visit Australia, even for short stays. Most travellers from Singapore apply for the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (subclass 601) visa, which is designed for tourism and short-term business visits of up to three months. The ETA can be easily applied for online via the Australian ETA app, and processing is typically quick, often within a few hours.

If you’re heading to the Gold Coast from Singapore, there are a few convenient options for flights, usually with a short layover or direct access to nearby Brisbane Airport. Here’s a breakdown of the best travel routes:
Direct flights to Brisbane: Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Scoot offer direct flights from Singapore to Brisbane Airport, which is the closest international airport to the Gold Coast. From Brisbane Airport, it’s about a one-hour drive or train ride to the Gold Coast.
Connecting flights via Sydney or Melbourne: Qantas, Jetstar, and Virgin Australia offer connecting flights through Sydney or Melbourne, with flights to Gold Coast Airport or a domestic connection to Brisbane.
Getting to the Gold Coast from Brisbane
Airtrain: From Brisbane Airport, Airtrain services connect directly to the Gold Coast, taking about 90 minutes and stopping at various Gold Coast locations.
Rental car: Travellers who prefer flexibility can rent a car at Brisbane Airport, with the drive taking around an hour via the M1 motorway.
