What to expect at Exploria: Start at Biopool

Our Interconnected World is the central hub where the journey begins before heading into the five worlds. We were immediately drawn to the Biopool, with its captivating 4-metre LED globe displaying a special light and sound show called The Planet Awakens. This area is spacious, so pick any corner to view the spectacular projections.
After registering at the check-in area, we received an RFID wristband and customised our digital avatar with animals like tigers and pandas. This is what you’ll use to activate interactive installations and earn virtual species badges. The live scoreboard in Exploria’s exit tunnel tracks your progress, and your profile stays up for a year, so you can boost your accomplishments on return visits.

Tip: keep an eye out for Hidden Gems, which can be unlocked by scanning your RFID wristbands at specific spots to score extra points and rare accessories for your avatar. Oh, and each world features Memory Hooks – cool photo stations for you to snap pics!
5 worlds to explore
1. Realm of the Giants

Transport yourself back in time to four prehistoric eras at Realm of the Giants, where you’ll walk among mammoth creatures from the past. We loved getting up close with dinosaurs like the fearsome Tyrannosaurus rex. Simply light ‘em up by scanning the QR code on each screen, and watch as augmented reality (AR) windows bring these ancient animals to life.
We highly recommend watching The Giants Show, an eight-minute, 360-degree display that takes you on a journey through 500 million years of life on Earth through stunning visuals, light, sound, and motion. It’s free to catch, but slots must be reserved on the booking portal two hours in advance.
2. Micro Worlds

Next, everything shrinks down to the tiniest forms of life at the microscopic scale in Micro Worlds. It was fascinating to gaze at the illuminated glass bubbles that magnified organisms like slim mould, worms, and ants – showcasing intricate detail you wouldn’t normally see. Microorganisms and invertebrates like plankton and bees are also featured within interactive domes in this dark, dreamy, and Instagrammable room.
3. Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers

If you’ve always wondered what it’s like to experience extreme weather environments, this is the place for you. From the desolate desert and the frozen Arctic to high altitudes and the modern city, each of the four areas offers a simulator experience with floor-to-ceiling screens that react to your movements.
This zone isn’t as interactive as it focuses more on visuals like polar bears on the hunt and Namaqua chameleons in the scorching desert heat. But you do get a sense of what the intensity is like, thanks to the vibrations, temperatures ranging from 4°C to 40°C, and wind speeds that hit up to 70km/h.
4. Infinite Wonderland

Step into a scene of rainforests, coral reefs, and wildlife at Infinite Wonderland. We were greeted by a menacing monsoon storm, complete with strong winds, spraying mists, and lightning, which made for a fun photo spot. After surviving the tempest, you’ll be welcomed into the arms of the forest. Don’t forget to scan your wristband to find hidden species and see animals in action, like the Malayan tiger hunting its prey.
Later on, the lush foliage turns into a kaleidoscopic cave that leads to an underwater world of vibrant marine life.
5. World of Darkness

Finally, World of Darkness draws you into a maze of dimly-lit caves where you’ll learn how animals like the Cuban boa and Mexican blind cavefish navigate their surroundings. As you move into the deep sea, watch out for creatures such as the Atolla jellyfish and sailfin rough shark. Move closer in, and you’ll be rewarded with a large-scale projection of glowing bioluminescent species.
