Discover the Ubah Rumah Residency at the Affordable Art Fair. The Ubah Rumah (“Home of Change”) Residency is a special initiative by Nikoi Island that spotlights emerging Southeast Asian artists, reflecting the rich, nomadic culture of the Orang Laut of the Singapore-Malaysia-Riau Islands.
The showcase will feature six visual artists and a collaborative video work selected from the residency programme, exploring themes of place, identity, and community. All artwork on display will be available for purchase.

Stone & Soil Painting Workshop with Ireen Tan
Develop a deeper connection to the earth by discovering the art of creating natural pigments from minerals and earth. Through this guided workshop, you will learn how to transform raw stones and soils into usable colours for painting and dyeing. You will leave with your own handmade pigments and a deeper appreciation of the natural palette that surrounds us.

Wood Burning Drawing Workshop with Florence Cinco
Discover the art of wood burning (pyrography) in this hands-on workshop. Immerse yourself in this session by etching designs onto wooden surfaces using controlled heat, transforming simple wooden pieces into expressive, textured artworks. All materials will be provided, and you will leave with your own unique wooden art piece.
Sunday, 16 November, 2pm – 3pm and 4pm – 5pm
Exploring Insects Through Art With Wendy Zhang
Observe the hidden beauty of insects, and bring your imagination to life through illustration and painting. By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own insect artwork as well as gained a deeper appreciation of the unique forms, patterns and colours of insects.
