This session explores the world of large-format film posters — the French grandes, German A0s, U.S. three-sheets, and other oversized prints designed to fill lobbies, streets, and public spaces. The Big Ones looks at why these formats existed, how they were produced, and what their scale reveals about cinema culture around the world. Through selected originals, we will consider material differences, printing methods, and the role of size in shaping audience attention. The session also reflects on how these monumental pieces once transformed the physical experience of going to the movies.
