Dear Honeycombers,
DesignSingapore Council (Dsg) and ArtScience Museum are deepening their partnership through a year-long collaboration that explores how design, art, science and technology can expand public imagination while addressing the defining issues of our time.
Opening this collaboration is the homecoming of Prototype Island from 24 July to 20 September 2026 following its award-winning debut at Milan Design Week 2026. The presentation received the inaugural “Essere Progetto” Special Mention at the Fuorisalone Award for its interpretation of the theme “Be the Project”, which recognises people as active agents of change and that design itself is an evolving process.

The homecoming showcase invites local audiences to experience how Singapore-based designers are transforming ideas into tangible responses with real-world impact: improving care and wellbeing, reinterpreting heritage for contemporary life, advancing technology through human-centred applications, developing new possibilities in materials, and rethinking everyday systems that shape how we live.
The works presented address a wide range of concerns, including tools for dementia therapy, diabetes management and fracture recovery; explorations of cultural continuity through craft traditions, ritual practices and heritage forms; and interactive installations that examine how people engage with systems, technology and information.
We warmly invite your audience to visit Prototype Island at ArtScience Museum and experience the works in person during its run till 20 September 2026. Please also note the this showcase was open to the public since 24 July 2026. Thank you!
