This June, Tiong Bahru Plaza is partnering PlayMade to bring back the popular Pickleball Playground. From
13 to 21 June 2026, this collaboration will transform the familiar outdoor common area near UOB into a
vibrant, community-focused sports arena for matches, family activities and open-court play.
The Pickleball Playground is Tiong Bahru Plaza’s flagship activation under the Shop, Eat, Play summer
campaign, which runs across Frasers Property Singapore’s malls from 25 May to 28 June 2026.
The return of the Pickleball Playground reflects Tiong Bahru Plaza’s ongoing placemaking efforts to activate
spaces for the community, strengthening its role as a neighbourhood destination for everyday activity,
interaction and shared experiences.
Now in its second year, the Pickleball Playground has quickly become one of Tiong Bahru Plaza’s most-
anticipated community activations. Pickleball, one of Singapore’s fastest-growing sports, aligns closely with
the mall’s placemaking vision: easy to pick up, social by nature, and inclusive for all ages and fitness levels.
By bringing the sport into a highly accessible, community-connected setting, this creates opportunities for
shoppers and residents to pause, participate, and connect.
From 13, 14 June and 20 June 2026, competitive players can take to the court for Men’s, Women’s and
Mixed Doubles Tournaments (registration fee: $50 per pair). Each participant will receive an exclusive
goodie bag comprising Tiong Bahru Plaza retailer vouchers and products. Winners will receive FRx Gift
Cards, with first place awarded up to $400, second place $300 and third place $150.
In a special nod to Father’s Day, the Pickleball Playground concludes on 21 June 2026 with a Father & Child
Tournament. Open to teams of one male adult and one child aged 6 to 12, the tournament (registration fee:
$30 per pair) supports intergenerational bonding through sport and offers families a meaningful way to
celebrate Father’s Day on the court.
For families looking to introduce their children to the sport, the Summer Kids Pickleball Camp will run from 17
to 19 June 2026 (10am to 12pm daily) at the outdoor court near UOB. Designed for children aged 6 to 12,
the two-hour sessions are guided by professional coaches and aim to nurture confidence, coordination and
teamwork in a fun, supportive environment.
FRx members who spend $30 in a single transaction at participating stores can redeem a unique code to
sign up for a camp session at just $10 per child (limited to 14 slots per session, on a first-come, first-served
basis).
Beyond tournaments and camp, the Pickleball Playground will also offer open court sessions from 15 to 19
June and 22 to 25 June 2026 (10am to 8pm). FRx members who spend $80 at participating stores in a
maximum of two same-day, same-mall transactions can redeem a two-hour court rental session, available
across five daily time slots. Booking passes can be collected at the Concierge on Level 2.
Shoppers who spend $60 (in a maximum of two same-day, same-mall transactions) can also visit the Pick &
Personalise booth from 12 to 14 June and 19 to 21 June 2026 (1pm to 6pm) to craft their very own
pickleball-themed keychain. Each keychain includes a paddle charm, a 3D pickleball and a mystery charm,
along with a Lucky Dip chance to win prizes such as FRx Gift Cards, tumblers, sports towels, Tiong Bahru
Plaza retailer vouchers and more.
The Pickleball Playground is part of Tiong Bahru Plaza’s broader placemaking vision to activate outdoor
spaces for community use. The initiative supports movement, participation and social connection in ways
that extend traditional retail and dining experiences.
Located in a district known for its heritage, café culture and strong community spirit, Tiong Bahru Plaza
continues to strengthen its role as a social hub for everyday living where common spaces are programmed
in purposeful and meaningful ways.
