Harmony Through Heritage: Woven Identities is a collaborative showcase that explores fashion and textile as a lens to understand Singapore’s multicultural identity. Organised by the National Heritage Board’s Heritage Institutions division and hosted at Temasek Shophouse, the roving exhibition traces how traditional wear across communities has been preserved, reimagined, and passed down through generations.
Explore this interactive exhibition to learn and touch some of these ethnic fabrics, and be inspired by a contemporary reimagining of traditional attire from Singapore’s ethnic communities by upcoming local designer, Elon Koh. Look out for the different activities such as a dress-up corner to experience the beauty of Singapore’s cultural attire, a hands-on craft activity to design your own paper fan and the opportunity to add a thread to a collective tapestry artwork.
Together, these activities celebrate the threads that connect us to our heritage, and bind us together as one people.
